Hi guys, it's me again.
I have recently learned how cfw works and what it does. After acquiring this new found power, I have grown addicted to this PS3 and the things that it could do. Apparently, in my journey of testing it's limits, I think I may have f*cked my system for good.
My previous threads are:
1. https://www.psx-place.com/threads/hi-im-new-to-custom-firmware-and-need-help.35295/
2. https://www.psx-place.com/threads/question-about-internal-storage-being-occupied.35343/
If you have read these two topics created by me, you'll understand that I still am pretty new to the scene and even now, I'm still finding new ways to mess with this system because I want to learn everything that I can.
Let me explain what happened earlier today.
Earlier, I was playing a backup of Uncharted that I have transferred from my external hard drive into the internal of ps3 when I stumbled upon an actual freeze. What I did were:
1. Turn off the ps3, ran the game again and the game would freeze on the same exact spot.
2. Tried to make an iso copy of the jb file and ran it off my ntfs drive but it still froze on the same exact spot
3. I thought that the problem may be fixed by doing the rebuild database and restoring file system
None of these things worked.
Here's the weird part. The PS3 appears to be detecting the games on my ntfs drive even when the ntfs drive is not plugged in. Like, it literally shows uncharted right there and when I launch it through webman, my ps3 would go on a comatose-like state and would freeze. When I try to run any game off of the internal hard drive by using multiman, it would say "please insert an original playstation 3 game before proceeding" on any game that I try to launch. I literally had never encoutered this problem in the past.
On top of this, when I go into multiman right below the scan for games under the game tab, I see an icon stating "start game from disc" but it doesn't really do anything.
I have also tried the switch to mmcm mode on the multiman settings and it's giving me the message stating: "This operation is not allowed. Cobra firmware or Cobra USB required"
I have tried to use multiman, webman, irisman and all launchers appear to be doing the same thing.
Did I do something to make my system act like this? I'm just saddened that all of the things I have done to make it the way it is now would potentially go to waste. Is there a way to save what I have on this console? I'd hate to start from scratch. If I ever get this thing to work, I'd stick with finishing all of the games and I promise the good lord not to mess with anything ever again.
I'm summoning the gods of this forums. Please lend me might of your knowledge, I beg of you.
