PS3 Is QA flagging on 4.90 enough to downgrade?

Essentially, I enabled the QA flag on my PS3 (CECH-2001A, evilnat 4.90) and I have the debug options.

Do I just need to enable system update debugging and then install an OFW or CFW version of an older version from the XMB?

Thanks

you can downgrade with just qa flags enabled. (leave it enabled always so that it is ready if you need it).

system update debug allows you to keep up to 20 pups on the hard drive to install without usb needed. put them under dev_hdd0/updater/01 with whatever filenames you want. you will also have an option to copy to hdd any pup you install from usb. it disables the option for internet update so it can be used just to help prevent accidental updates.

I mean, my goal is to go to 2.70 or 2.80 because I want to mess around with otheros (since I have no idea how to do otheros++) plus I want to have the original startup.

Then your best option would be to downgrade to FW 3.55 and the downgrade again to FW 3.20.

It's not so simple to downgrade the PS3 that low. There are some success cases here on the forums, but I repeat, it's not easy.
