PS3 Is there any way to properly shut down the PS3 after it freezes?

Hello, as CFW users may know, we are susceptible to experiencing sporadic freezes when we run some homebrew or are testing something.

Whenever this happens, I have to force the PS3 to shut down by pressing the power button. The inconvenience of this is having to wait for the HD integrity check screen every time we turn on the PS3.

In short: Is there any way to properly turn off the PS3 after it freezes?

I'm afraid not. A full freeze on the console renders it totally unresponsive.

The best advice is to use those freezing homebrews as little as possible.

The solution would be to have the source code of the FW and fix all these issues, but that is impossible.
