Keep getting "No applicable update data was found" despite following correct steps.

Hello, probably sounds like a really basic issue I am having but hear me out. I have been trying to upgrade my PS3 hard drive but when trying to update the firmware I keep running into the "No applicable update data was found" message. I have formatted my USB FAT32, labeled the folders correctly and I still keep getting this message. I don't understand, if anyone can help that would be appreciated. My PS3 was on 4.81 OFW and I wanted to update to 4.84 OFW because I heard Rebug Lite is the only thing supported after. At one point I got so fed up that I decided to download the latest update from the Sony website and after multiple attempts I still got the same message.

Make sure that the drive is partitioned as MBR and not GPT, since the PS3 can only read MBR partitioned drives. It could be as simple as that, and hopefully it is.

Yea cheers mate, I formatted one of my USB's with MBR but it didn't work but thankfully it worked on another one I had laying around. Thanks!

No problem man, you're welcome. Trying another USB stick would have been my next suggestion lol glad you got it sorted in the end
