I have my freemcboot mc in slot 1 running the bdm3 version of opl. (Dont have link permissions)
And my MC2SIO i got from helder running in slot 2 on a PS2 Slim SCPH-97001. Games are showing up and runni g properly but when i try to swap out the fmcb mc with a regular mc after booting a game the card is slot 1 is not detected. Is there a better version of opl i can use? I have been browsing the forums and the newest version of this topic i can find is from 2022.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

You cannot remove MX4SIO after game booting from it. It is constantly in use...

And You cannot use SIO for memory card if MX4SIO is in use. Save inside VMC instead.

BTW: Try BDM 4/4.1 and/or just latest 1.2.0 beta. BDM3 are ancient now. ;]

Thanks I'll try the newest version. And i remove the fmcboot card not the mx4sio card. Do i save the vmc to the mx4sio card or the fmcb card?

There is no such thing as "fmcboot card". PS2 Memory Card can be used only for storing saves or also other purpose, i.e FMCB. From hardware and software point of view, card with saves and card with saves and fmcb, and card with only fmcb are exactly the same device. MX4SIO however is not memory card. It is like pendrive, just not connected to USB but instead to SIO port which normally only PSX and/or PS2 MC using.

Of course on MX4SIO.

So I updated the card that has freemcboot on it to have latest opl 1.20 beta version. I want to try to set up a vmc but when i try to save settings i get stuck in a save loop. Anyway to fix that by deleting the config files to make new ones or do i need to fix it by editing files on my pc?

Make memory card image on PC (none ECC, You can find empty one in AIO Project) and copy it to "/VMC/generic0.bin". Maybe it will accept it. If doesn't, indeed, try deleting conf.cfg (not games configs in /CFG of course if You have any).

I downloaded the latest AIO Project version and located the blank64Mib.bin in the without ECC folder. Do I simply copy this onto my flashdrive and then copy it to /VMC/generic0.bin? If not can you point me to the documentation I need to follow to get it set up?
