Need help diagnosing A01 that won't boot the first time

Hello! I'm really unsure if this is the right forum to post this under since I need some help. So I have this PS3 CECHA01 that I delidded because it was overheating (Where after a few minutes, fan speeds ramp up and then as usual it would auto-shutdown) Everything went successfully with nothing being thrown off the board or any scratches at all on the RSX and the CPU. But, after putting everything neccessary to start back together, it only gives me a green light. Normally this would be the sign of the GLOD or that I accidentally broke it somehow. But after waiting a few minutes while the ps3 is on and still green, I shut it down from the back (because turning it off from the front didn't beep or anything) and turn it back on again, and viola! It just magically works and it pretends nothing happened. No "Your ps3 was turned off incorrectly" or anything. I thought this was really weird so I plopped in a game or two and everything worked fine even after a few hours of leaving it on, nothing changed. I also tried a ps2 game and same thing. Any clue on how to fix this? My assumption is a capacitor of some kind needs to be charged in order for the thing to boot which is why it needed to be left turned on first before restarting for it to boot. I have a multimeter (although very cheap) to probe around if anyone has a component you'd like me to test. Thanks!

I forgot to mention, another observation I had while turning it on the first time was the HDD light would blink once. Whereas a normal boot would have it blink once then followed by the usual fast blinking. Not sure if this means anything but just something worth mentioning.
