My PS3 had a cfw, but I don't know which version, it was Rebug and had GTA mods on it. I'm stuck in the Recovery Screen and when I try something else it says please update to 3.50 or later, when I put the usb in which is Fat32, PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP, it says no applicable update data was found. I've Tried Cex and Dex cfw updates and none have worked. Should I try 3.50 OFW? Or does anyone know any other fixes?
 
I download the Rebug 4.84.2 D-REX and it didn't work. Still at 3.50 or later Update Version Require and No applicable Update Data Found

I tried OFW 3.50 and that didn't work either

Is your USB stick showing up in the photo/music/video categories on the XMB? If it's not showing up then it is formatted wrong or not compatible. Make sure it is FAT32 MBR and not FAT32 GPT. GPT will not work.
 
Problem is My PS3 is stuck in the Safe Mode, it won't go to the XMB I added a new hard drive with 1tb which is brand new and empty. I'll check if it's FAT32 MBR or GPT tho
 
Ok Turn out I was Downloading Rex on accident, I just got it to install thank you so very much ShoutOut to DEVIL303 Ur awesome dude

Show me a screenshot of your USB stick with the PUP and folders. There are not many things it can be.

  • USB stick not compatible (rare but possible, try another stick)
  • Wrong formatting (MBR,GPT, NTFS, FAT32)
  • Double extension on PUP due to windows having file extensions hidden
  • Not using all CAPS or typo in folder or PUP name
  • Wrong type of PUP (DEX.CEX,SEX)
  • USB port data lines broken, try other port
That's all I can think of.
 
I'm having the same issue ps3 cfw 4.91 dex stuck in safe mode I plug the USB in the right USB port I tried the official playstation 3 update from Sony said no applicable data found I'm stuck in safe mode everything been formatted to fat32
 
One thing I usually had to do is check if the date and time were set after connecting to internet. Until I did that, the USB drives wouldn't show.
 
Hola chicos, descargué una ps3 y funcionó bien durante unos días y ahora me pide el firmware 2.70. No hice nada más que restaurarlo en modo seguro. Entonces probé 4.91 ofw.2.70 ofw, rogero downgrader 4.90 y 4.66 habib cfw.
PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP en una unidad flash fat32 formateada. Usé varias unidades flash sin suerte. También probé la opción 6 en recuperación y no tuve suerte. Cualquier idea lo agradecería.
