Will this prevent me from getting banned then?

there are no guarantees. I was banned, both account and system, using the plugin, and I don't even game online. I just signed in one day and poof banned. sony lumps all cfw users as pirates. perhaps most are, but not all. I had no games on system at the time either.

I for myself feel pretty safe using psn patch.
However @pinky is right: there is no guarantee.
If I ever get banned I can change PSID as I have a couple spare ones (from 3 dead consoles + I have 4 ps3s ATM xD ).

To answer your question about the plugin: in the bottom of the screen on your foto you see "select: toolbox". So :but select: will take you to the toolbox menu.
There you can press another button to install the plugin (don't know the button, you will have to look).

Once the plugin is installed you cannot connect to psn until you disable cfw features by pressing :l3: + :r3: + :r2:

Once you press the PSNPatch plugin shortcut L3+R3+R2 from the XMB, CFW syscalls will be disabled, history cleaned, IDPS spoofed, PSN connection unlocked, HOMEBREW execution LOCKED.

I will try that today after setting up sMan, i couldnt manage to install that plugin. Although i did everything i need to do.
The steps i did:
1. Copy sman.sprx to the root of the hdd0 of my ps3
2. Create a boot_plugins.txt and put that on root of the hdd0 aswell.

However it doesnt load up or im doing something wrong

Have you installed the Rebug Toolbox & enabled Cobra in the Selector column?
It's a prerequisite to install sMan.

As to psnpatch plugin, I posted this a couple of days ago in reply to a query similar to yours.

What format is your PS3 game (I assume you are talking about a PS3 game)? JB folder or ISO?
Where is the game located? Internal hdd? Usb device? On a fat32 or ntfs partition?
If you can see it on XMB & launch it, how did you mount it? In order to get an icon on XMB, a game must first be mounted, an icon will then be displayed, as if you had inserted a Bluray disc in the BD drive. When you unmount the game, the XMB icon disappears.

Or is it a PSN pkg game? Unlike JB folder or ISO games, PSN games do not require to be mounted by a backup manager & consequently they don't appear in backup managers game lists. Once installed (pkg installation), a PSN game can be launched via its XMB icon. The XMB icon will be displayed in the Games column of the XMB permanently until you uninstall the game.

sounds like a jb game with cobra enabled. it might be a ps2 game specifically. iirc, a game like that won't appear in mm at least, but wmm will show both jb and iso ps2 games at the same time.

Sooo. The game is modern warfare 3. I downloaded the pkg and then splitted it to get it on a usb drive. FTP takes too long. I went into Multiman and qeued all 8 packages. And then i went on install packages in the xmb menu and installed it from there. After that i used psnpatch to install the .rap file.

afaik, mm doesn't read psn games. you'll have to convert it with psn liberator.

edit: btw, piracy talk or help is prohibited on these forums.

If I am not mistaken & you downloaded that PSN game prepared for HAN, it is piracy & you will not get any more help for this kind of thing in this forum.

Note that on CFW, there is no need for HAN resigning btw. All that stuff is basically pointless, furthermore, keep in mind that only Rebug 4.82 supports HAN natively, other CFWs do not. Generally, games in iso format are recommended for CFW use except for game modding which usually requires using games in JB folder format.

If you already own this game but the disc is broken, the situation is slightly different I suppose. Strictly speaking, it changes nothing on a legal standpoint of course but still, obtaining another copy is "understandable" imho...

True but i dont wanna support piracy in here. I do own the copy but others who read this thread may not own one.
