PS3 Not being able to update firmware

I have a ps3 cok-002 board that I had a update performed without the BD drive and then the HDD died is there any way to revive it in safe mode if I want to update it says data corrupted and the err code alternates from b5 to C5 with every version I try

Only CFW NoBD can be used in Your case, which means You need to have capability of install CFW in the first place.

At this point I have the BD but I can't update it it just refuses to do it ...

sounds like your ps3 model is either cech-c or cech-e. both are cfw-compatable models.

can you reattach the bd drive? if so, try to update with it attached.

if you can not, you would need a hardware flasher to jailbreak and then install nobd cfw after.

Yeah I'm going to try to update it via a cd maybe it's going to do it like that and yes it's a Cech -c
