I have a slim (CECH-2001A 1tb hdd 4.88 evilnat). One day I was playing a PS1 game and the video signal went away. I still heard audio, and also got audio feedback from changing selections in the game's pause menu. Figured turning it off and holding the power button until the first beep (video output selection screen) would solve the problem, but it didn't. I tried using the AV cable and the video output switch method and still got no video. I tried the hard reset/recovery mode and still got no video. But it still turns on normally, and the controller connects.
What can I do about it? Wiggling the HDMI cord in the port didn't do anything, and the reason I did this was because in the past sometimes I'd lose video signal if the cord wasn't properly positioned. I'm okay with replacing the console, at this point I've had it for more than ten years, but I don't want to lose my save files and trophies, I worked really hard for those.
Should I try replacing the HDMI port? Maybe reflowing solder with a heat gun? Is there another way to get video output? Maybe a way to dump files to usb?
Sorry for the long post, I figured if I include as much information it'll help narrow down the issue.
I should add that I know the hdd gets encrypted to the specific console it's connected to and can't be used on another one without a wipe. *BUT* I don't know if there's a way for me to "dump" this hdd and be able to use it with a replacement console, if that's a thing someone please point me in the right direction
thanks in advance!
