I've just ordered and haven't received yet a Japanese PS2 Midnight Blue (SCPH-50000 MB) which is supposedly the GH-029 motherboard. Being in a PAL region this means I can source the silver model (also GH-029) to get a working PSU and motherboard right? Or will any 50000 series power supply fit?
Ideally if I can, I'd like to mix and match which i know isn't ideal but will produce the best results for me. I mainly play NTSC games and want the boot logo to show when playing them.
From what I've read mechapwn on the NTSC-U is the best of both worlds, i can play my pal and JP discs no problem. Which NTSC motherboard will fit in the chassis? I'm assuming the latest model but which is that?
Also I'm reading that the optical drive pickup (not sure where that connects) uses a different amount of pins.
TLDR: Can I swap the PSU to pal, if so which model. The rest of the post is just an ideal.
