PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

This PS3 model should handle 700/850-900MHz (700/850 are my favorite frequencies) without issues. It's a safe balance for this model before hitting diminishing returns. We haven't encountered a single 25xx series experiencing problems at these frequencies so far. However, if you're determined to push beyond this, I recommend keeping an e3Flasher on hand and being mindful of the diminishing returns.
The most significant performance gains are achieved up to 700MHz for the core and between 800 and 900MHz for VRAM. Beyond these points, the performance improvements diminish, while the risks of hardware degradation still increase progressively.
hi Mitsu i was wondering for a 2101A Slim console which frequencies do you recommend to use?

This OC is working great! Thank you very much

Your console might be stable at 700/850MHz. A lot of 21xx models seem to handle these frequencies fine. If you notice any signs of instability, reduce the frequencies to 650/800-850MHz.
great thanks a lot mitsu i really appreciate this information, i will try to see how it works for my 2101A

Afaik, the Syscon controls both CPU and RSX, but Sony added RSX overrides to lv1. That's why it doesn't work on hen. Hen doesn't have control of lv1 iirc.
Yeah I'm aware. I'm just surprised more work hasn't been done for the cpu OC on here. Especially since that is going to yield a massive performance bump on all games. Along side this RSX OC, it will transform most games. Right now. The cpu speed is what's holding us back. Hope someone cooks.

I think the RSX oc is done because it's quick and easy. You'd probably have to open the system for the CPU.

Hello !
I have ps3 phat cechk08.
For now installed cfw evilnat 4.91 beta 14 oc 600/750. Temps 60c / 62c 35%fan

is it possible to more overclock it safely ?

and maybe there is a ready cfw file ?

I'm (probably blindly) assuming the CPU speed might be as simple as setting a few hex values, akin to the volt mod in the SYSCON (like how I undervolted my backwards compatible C03 and a G04). It's just probably no one has found the addresses yet - the voltage ones are already known (0x3110/3111 for Mullion voltage modifying (CECHA up to CECHK), 0x50/51 for Sherwoods (CECHL up until 2500)

But for now, I'm quite happy with my 900/950 UK 2500 slim. Haven't tried a 1000 VRAM yet though maybe it can get it up there if I slightly bump the voltage a little? (CXD5300GGB by the way.)

The above, is that a Sony 65nm RSX can anyone confirm? New to the scene and looking for a sanity check. I remember now the spreadsheet was in a video by @RIP-Felix -- is that available pubically?

Its will also create the most compatibility problems, since a lot of games in that games use a delta time based on the TSC.

My ps3 slim is the best by far. 950/1000. And I have like 8 other slims that do 850/975 and 900/1000. I have a collection of fast ps3s.
