Ps2 config on OFW?

Hi there! I recently got hold of a super slim ps3 and i would like to use it to replace my old ps3 with ylod. From the ps2 games compatibility list on ps3 I notice that some games like mgs2 or dmc would benefit from config for better performance, yet I've just entered the world of homebrew on ps3 and I would like to understand if these fixes are exclusive to CFW. From what I've read Managunz should automatically download the best config for my games, but I'm not sure if those configs can be used on ofw.

There are 2 types of CONFIG for PS2 games:
1- Decrypted CONFIG
They only work on CFW with Cobra/Mamba payload enabled. They need to be copied in the same folder of the ISO, with the same file name of the ISO with .CONFIG appended.

2- Encrypted CONFIG
They only work on all systems (OFW/HEN/CFW). They need to be included as "CONFIG" in the USRDIR of the PKG for the PS2 Classic game.
If you mount the game with webMAN MOD, the encrypted CONFIG should be copied in the same folder of the encrypted ISO (.BIN.ENC), with the same file name with .CONFIG appended.

The encrypted config file can be downloaded from PS2 Classics database. Here is a post that explains how to encrypt it manually:

Thank you very much for the clarification, I will follow the links you gave me. Thanks to you I will be able to dust off my library of ps2 games!

Sorry to bother again, however I was curious to know if I can use PS2 Classics GUI in order to apply config: in the section Make PKG when prompted should I select the CONFIG from the link you gave me before (ENC(PS2 Classics)) or should I stick with the ones already in PS2 Classics GUI?
I apologize if I wrote something stupid and meaningless, but I'm completely new to homebrew and there are still many things I need to understand.

Yes, you can use PS2 Classics GUI to apply the config.
However, it includes some CONFIG files that were updated later.
Therefore I recommend to download the config from the online database.
It also has additional configs not included with the GUI.
