I got a ps2 50004 aquatic blue around a month ago. When i First turned it on it displayed only color bars i later found out is the ps2 testmode (i can switch with select different test mode displays). If i let the ps2 on for 3/4 minutes and then restart it woud boot into system as it shoud and i coud play normaly. But now it wont leave test mode even after leaving it on the console for hourse. I opened it cleaned it and even changed the cmos battery. The Motherboard does not have any visible damage.

Is it SCPH-50004, DESR-5000?
What kind of a motherboard does it have (e g. GH-026)?

Any photos?

I'm not too familiar with the PS2 debug stuff, but here are some links that may give you
It could be that there is some kind of "short" that makes your console enter into Test Mode. Or, the BIOS is configure to load the test tool, and not the PS2's OS.
i belive it coud be the bios as the Motherboard does not apere to have been shorted but i dont know how to get to the bios and coud not finde anything on the internet about it.

not sure. I only know its caused by this because its the only way the console can run TESTMODE on it's own.

lets ask @akuhak since leo oliveira is not here on psx-place
it is no the only way, but other ways are too hard to achieve. It is possible to get into unlimited TESTMODe by writing specially corrupted FAN config into eeprom area. But anyway you need to solder PMAP to get rid of it by issuing commands to mechacon processor. c8d00 command most likely will do the trick if it is not the TESTMODE short of course.

coud it be a shorted resistor? The console was never opened before so i dont think the eeprom was writen on if thats how it works not sure. Also the console used to work it just took sometime before it woud boot into system os. Coud the console short it self somehow?
