PS3 PS3 backwards compatible

Hi newb here .
I have a fat ps3 with possibly Ylod but fan test does not work three beeps when trying to power on no very confident with soldering iron .my questions
1:Is worth trying to repair
2: cost of replacement board
3: benefits
4: have a few ps3 all have Ylod worth selling parts or as a whole systems

When Ylod there is not really something to repair with soldering iron when you are not confident. Sell it as whole or parts. Buy a jailbreakable slim and be happy.
