PS3 PS3 don't recognize usb in any format

1. It is best to use windows own disk formatter to do the formatting job.

It's actually not the best really.. See below.

. USB flash drive up to 32GB can be used on PS3 console with MBR stuff in it. If you're using 64GB and above, you won't see FAT32 formatting options on the windows disk formatter. Force formatting to FAT32 actually giving much problems.

This is why its not a good idea to use the Windows formatter. If you use a tool like Rufus or Fat32FormatGUI it will allow you to format drives of any size to FAT32.

Having the same problem...

USB Flash Drive formatted with either Fat or NTFS with MBR partition formatted with rufus, minitool, Wii Backup Manager and windows tool.

Trying to load a backup of a God of War 3 disc but Webman and Irisman just don't found anything, altough Irisman shows USB icon when i plug in.

Other USB Flash Drive works fine on both irisman and webman and the stick works on my PC.

The fun fact is the PS3 got the flash drive recognized two times and got to even mount an iso, but when i plugged back on my pc and transferred another backup, the stick didn't got recognized again.

Also the stick is only recognizable as usb-hdd on Rufus.

This points to hardware issue on this specific device. On first, try if capacity is real by e.g f3-tools because it sounds really like fake drive to me.

You can get 128GB microSD cards these days, so pen drives that size are not necessarily fake (unless you buy it on AliExpress or Wish for $5)

Yes, it was an fake flash drive.

My sister bought me this for my birthday and i don't even know from where she got, 99% from china

Yeah, I also said that. If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

moi aussi j'ai récemment sortie ma PS3 jailbreak et mes clé USB récent ne sont pas détectable par la PS3 essaie une autre clé USB moi cela a résolu mon problème

I too recently released my jailbreak PS3 and my recent USB key is not detectable by the PS3, try another USB key for me, that solved my problem
