Hi, I recently bought a PS3 Slim model CECH-2504B. Console was dirty but functional, read BDs, output image, etc. all good till this point. I decided to open it like I usually do with all the used consoles I have bought.
Cleaned it, repasted it, closed it, forgot to put thermal pads in it, reopened it cut new thermal pads and added them to the 2 points on the VRMs that had thermal pads before (used 2mm thick ones, same thickness as original pads).
This is where it gets interesting. After reassembling the console, it would turn on normally but would not want to output video (tried both HDMI and the AV cable on multiple monitors and TVs) or sync with any of the DualShock 3 controllers I tried to connect to it via USB. Tried to hold the power button to get to the reset video output, nothing. Tried to get to recovery mode, nothing, still no display. Console beeps normally like any other PS3 but no display. Controllers only showed like they were charging when in recovery mode but would not connect. I even pulled out the HDD and tried all this but to no avail.
So I decided to connect an external UART to the SYSCON Rx Tx points.
As you can see there are no errors or issues on startup or shutdown. I honestly don't know what could be wrong. I can't even find anyone with a similar issue online.
If anyone has any idea as to what might be the issue I would be greatful!
