Quick question is the program called ps3tools

The program is installed in: %userprofile%\ps3tools\ps3tools
(put that path in explorer, it will be replaced with C:\Users\<USERNAME>\ps3tools\ps3tools)

The executable for the menu of the tool is PS3Tools_Menu.exe

There are many exe tools included in the installation. The main tool is PKG_ContentID.exe
It is used to coordinate the call of other tools. It is also associated to windows directory and to many file extensions. Some antivirus confuse this behavior with a malware and delete the program to protect your system. But that "virus/malware" report is a false positive.

indeed. got a new computer a couple days ago, and the moment I tried to open PKG_ContentID.exe, it was quarantined. I added it to the exclusion list and restored it. opened in admin, and everything is back like it should be:

Hello, Pinky. I have a question, can you msg me please? In fact, it is about dev klic. I'm trying to get a dev klic of a PS3 game and tried aldo tools, but seems that it didnt work. I would be glad if you could msg me and help with this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @aldostools, great set of tools!. The only issue I have with them is that I find them very intrusive in my Windows 10 install. I've got a lot of file extensions associated by default and I can't clean them up. I've tried running the provided Regedit scripts but some extensions are still attached to the tools.

Do I need to search through all my Regedit manually or is it an easier alternative?. Thank you in advance.

I can't send pm's for some reason, but the best way to get the klicense imo is cfw settings/tools. just enable klicense logging, open the game, then exit, grab the log from the tmp folder, and inside will be the klicense. if nothing is logged, the file(s) is/are dummy, so you can rename the files, and the game will still run. there's no way to determine this afaik, so test the game afterwards, just in case. there's also a way to dump the klicense with webman mod, but I forgot how to. I've never done it before, only with cfw settings.

To remove the file extensions associations execute:
%userprofile%\ps3tools\ps3tools\tools\registry patches\remove_ps3tools_file_associations.reg
%userprofile%\ps3tools\ps3tools\tools\registry patches\remove Make ISO shell association.reg

Any remaining association need to be removed manually.

If you find any missing file association not included in these .reg files, please report it to update the file and make the life easier for other users.

good way to remove the remaining associations is to create a blank bat file, associate the file type with it, then delete the bat file. I think this works anyway as it's been a long time.

now i know where those .exe went...lol.straight to the virus vault...i set defender to exclude those files now, even on bootup....all good now

I just verified the links in the mirrors and they are still working.

Thanks for the reply. I went through them again and the Solid Files link worked this time! All the rest however still report as File Not Found/Missing across multiple browsers and on both my WiFi and 4G. Not sure if it's just a problem my end.

Thanks for your hard work in putting all this together!

Anyone else getting MASSIVE virus warnings from this download? Several of the links don't work anymore, and the ones that do are instantly stopped by my antivirus. Goolge blocked the download from executing, so i scanned it and found filerepmalware.

Thank you for your hard work putting this together, but I'm having serious issues.
1. 4 of the 5 links are dead.
2. the link that isn't dead is infected with 35 threats including trojans, and several ransomware files.

I did read the note, but with what was listed, it's difficult to see that i would get so many false positives.
Google lets it download until the end, then flags it. Idgaf what google thinks, so I scanned it with AVG, which put it in quarantine. I restored it, changed the extension to .exe, then uploaded it to virusTotal where the 35 threats were identified.

Is it possible that the link and file name have been hijacked? is there any other way to obtain the collection?

Try this link
https://www.psx-place.com/resources/ps3-tools-collection.594/

You will get a malware alert anyway, but it's a false positive due the tool register many file extensions (Including Windows directory) which is a common behavior of malware.

This is the same link that I used. This just downloads the 'mirror links.zip'. The links in that file are still the same.

@Cyberdev
Regarding your reported post:

29 AntiViruses that all say it sends personal information off the device it is launched from to the internet and also say ransomware is not a good thing to have on a toolkit.

This is a known false positive for many A/V programs.
