PS3 PS3 Tools Collection - by Aldostools (Includes Over 50+ Tools/Utility for your CFW Enabled PS3) v4.8.1

Tihs is not probably solution here but keep in mind that anti viruses don't like PS3 tools collection. Is good to make exception for program/download/etc. You can do this safely because AV alerts are related due to DEP, so it's safe if you know what you are already using.

I doesn't have most useful shell extensions due to AV before.

No, I haven't experienced that issue... So I'm not familiar with it.

Maybe Zoilus should try using PS3PKG_GUI.exe instead of PKGView.

Regarding the Make PKG on the content menu, it has been working fine here... so I don't have idea what could be happinging.

BTW I added a "make_pkgs" folder to create special pkg files (for avatar, edat, themes) using batch files & Python scripts.

well I just did a restore point went back a couple of days... so now I have only pkgview installed and it extracts packages fine now and I can see what been extracted on my desktop . I can mess with the files and what not. so thats good but PS3tools is gone so im ok with that....

but I STILL don't have a way to repack everything. :hmmm: back to square one lol

does anybody have PKGcontent ID just by itself as a stand alone?

PKG_ContentID.exe acts as a "hub" launching the corresponding tool (e.g. PkgView, PUPView, psn_package_npdrm, HxD, etc.). So it can't work fully as stand alone.

AV don't like PKG_ContentID.exe because it's associated to many file extensions.

thanks @aldotools for your input... I thought maybe it was like pkgview and would work by itself. I basically edited some files and I wanted to pack everything up , I didn't make any type of crazy changes to the original pkg.

and if windows would see the things ps3tools after I did them I would be set, but its weird how windows explorer cant find anything done with the tools, but the tools can find them! I even tried to be smart and I zipped up a repacked pkg but when I went into the folder the zip wasnt there! but I could see it while in the window of pkgview or pkgcontent id ... very unusual

but I will keep going to see if I can find a simple solution ... I thank everyone for the help!!

It is more due some associated file extensions (like .dat, .bin, "Directory") that make it "suspicious" for AV.

You are dev so you can have right here, but isobuster also associate this files and is not detected (but can be white listed), is only from my personal tests but DEP and overall unknown exe execution possibility is problematic (ClamAV pup detection loves it....).

Ok so with Aldos new download 2.7.40 , everything installed except one file... something about nfs underground.exe??

so now I see the "make pkg" in the context menu! when I have a pkg file , the pkg options appear in the context menu...so all good EXCEPT the one thing I need still doesnt work.

when Im ready to convert the folder to pkg, i select make pkg in the context menu and after a couple of seconds I get a window in the middle of screen that says "PKG file has stopped working" and I can check online for solution or close the program. in the details of that window , this is what pops up:

Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: PKG_CO~1.exe
Application Version: 2.6.0.7
Application Timestamp: 56a42207
Fault Module Name: StackHash_4d68
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
Exception Offset: 00595a30
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Data: 00000008

so im getting closer...but still can't make a pkg. and yes I did run the installer as admin. Oh and I can unpack a pkg with zero problems now and my windows can see it and I don't have to be in the program so thats all good , just the actual making of a package is the only thing.

About the error, try disabling DEP for PKG_ContentID.exe

The "nfs underground.exe", it is optional. It is used by Bruteforce SaveData to decrypt/encrypt the save for that game.

Regarding the make pkg... I don't know why it isn't working on your system.

so now the only little issue is that I have is that I do have a eboot.bin in the usrdir but it says there is an error because its not a npdrm self so the package is made without an eboot even though I have one in there. so Im guess the eboot cant be in bin correct? should be in decrypted to self or elf something like that right?

not sure what u mean by in bin. it should be eboot.bin, yes. and, yes, eboot files r self files just named differently. they're already encrypted as well. not sure y u'd get such a message. I once turned a 360 app into a pkg without issue, so I dunno what's going on there.

Can you please tell me the default tool to open each of the +24 extensions added by this program?
Thanks.

Most of the extensions are associated to PKG_ContentID.exe, but some are also associated to other tools, like PS3PKG_GUI.exe, PARAM_SFO_Editor.exe, PS3_File_Splitter.exe, PS3_Game_Integrity.exe, etc.

If you need to remove the file associations, execute "remove_ps3tools_file_associations.reg" which can be found in %userprofile%/ps3tools/ps3tools/tools/registry patches

Added all of them manually removing hyphens in the file you say. But not sure if the file associations are tied with their appropriate program.

It doesn't work that way... the .reg files doesn't have listed all the sub-keys. It removes the top key and all the subkeys are removed.

To force the associations, you must run install_ps3tools_2.7.41.exe as Administrator. It will run the "PS3 Tools Menu", which in it's first run will associate the files calling the other tools (PKG_ContentID.exe, PARAM_SFO_Editor.exe, PS3_DISC_SFB_edit.exe, etc.) with the parameter: /register

It is very important that you run the installer the first time as Administrator to allow Windows associate the files in the registry.

Gonna try.

Was running 2.7.38, now i am downloading 2.7.40. but can't find 2.7.41.
Sorry for double post.

Is there a way to convert several saves to another region at the same time with bruteforce savedata?
Example: i have a option file for PES with 689 folders, i can decrypt them all at the same time, i can also unlock the saves to use on any ps3 at the same time but when i choose all files(Ctrl+A) and change the ID of the game it only changes one folder so i have to do all one by one. is there a way around this? or some option that i'm missing?
