and when it reaches 90% this show

although i downloaded the versions (4.82 - 4.84 - 4.85 which is latest) and all the same progress and i changed the flash drive to another and the same problem.
so is it a problem with my hdd or what.
i would be thankful for any help i can get.

Might sound stupid but have you tried pressing the PS button on a USB connected controller? To get it to restart.

Also, like @snkplkn said your BT Controller and/or BD Drive might be broken and that prevents you from installing any FW since it cant install the FW files for the BT controller and/or BD Drive if they are broken.
Thats why NoBT/NoBD CFW's exist. ;)
If you have a CFW installed atm you could try installing a NoBT/NoBD CFW (I recommend latest Rebug) ;)
If you have OFW you are unfortunately quite out of luck, as you need to be able to access the XMB in order to install a NoBT/NoBD CFW. :(

Are you installing CFW or OFW?

There can be hardware issue like bad/corrupt hdd or bad BT controller / BD Drive. A faulty hardware can stop firmware installation.
thanks for reply.
but i'm trying to install OFW because if i'm stuck in this page then it is impossible to install CFW

yes i tried the PS button and restart it and the same page show up

Experts might give you better insight

@sandungas @Joonie

Why were you updating firmware? Were you facing any problems before? Was PS3 working completely normal before you started installation of firmware?
because my nephew when he was playing with it the power shut down very much in our country so you know what happens when the power turns off the ps3 its get inside system restore so it powered off many times and thats why im in the same page that im stuck in it now and dont know what to do

Sorry to hear that.
Sandungas could be right you'll prob have to get yourself a new HDD .
I had probs with HDDs going funny on the console by giving errors back when trying to install pkg based stuff.
Still got that same hdd and will prob end up putting it up on my desktop pc sometime since pc's aren't that fussy with them things.

I don't clearly understand what you are saying.

But were you stuck on endless system restore pop up after improper shutdown before you tried reinstalling firmware?

If you are stuck on endless pop up, you should go to safe mode, restore default settings, then restore file system and rebuild database. If you are lucky, your pop up will go away and you can go back to XMB.

You should also try using another hdd.

the ps3 has been turned off many times because of the electricity in here so because of that this screen keeps pop up and i can get to safe mode and tried all the options but no fix and thats why i dont know what to do next :apologetic:

As a Summary:
If you can get to the XMB or Recovery Mode, you should be fine. If not, yre screwed. :(

Changing HDD might solve the problem aswell, if the HDD is f@cked up ;)
i cant get to the XMB but i can get to recovery mode and i did all the options but nothing works
is there any OFW or CFW you recommend to install in this type of situation?

btw when i try to (restore default settings) option it take long time, Is it supposed to be like that or as i know it should take a minute cause it is only default settings?

The constant power cuts have most likely corrupted the HDD. You could try doing a surface scan on it connecting the HDD to a PC using a SATA to USB cable or one of the PCs main HDD cables to look for damaged sectors, then formatting it to try and correct some of the damage, then try it back in the PS3.

If that all fails then a new HDD is going to be the way to go.

/NoBD CFW is fine

CECH2500 - CECH4000 models don't get stuck in update loops because of a bad BD drive as the logic board for them is on the MB, I can remove the BD drive from my CECH4003A completely and it will play and boot apps/games on the HDD just fine. Also installing an NoBD CFW on a console that might not need it can cause issues like the BD drive not working ever again properly...

The fact this happend to the OP after a power cut points to the HDD being the first suspect> ie it been corrupted on the part where the FW is stored.

I was thinking......

Can he wipe/format PS3 hdd by PC to clear all data and then try putting hdd back into PS3? That way PS3 will detect hdd as new and may not get stuck on error sectors of old firmware.
