PS3 won't boot the menu or go into safe mode (not hacked/modded)

Hey everyone, I need some help with my PS3 Super Slim (the one with the sliding disc tray). Last week, I was playing an import PS2 game I downloaded from the Japanese PSN, but when I went to the manual and zoomed in a little bit, the system froze.

It's done that a couple of times before, so I figure if I just unplugged it, it'd work fine. But then it wouldn't load the menu.

So I tried putting it into Safe Mode, but every time I tried it just turned off instead of doing the multiple beeps.

So then I bought a USB-SATA adaptor so I could plug in my PS3 to see the health of my hard drive, but it said that the health was "Good".

I don't think this is the "Yellow Light of Death" ether since the yellow saving to storage light won't flash anymore.

So I'm completely lost on what to do. Is it a problem with my hard drive, or is it just my PS3? And if it's a problem with my PS3, how can I fix it?

While I would love to help there is no real way to diagnose with the info provided. I did move this to the help section so it may get some replies. The Super Slim is the one I really do not have any experience with. Maybe others that have had these can help.
