PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

Hi Bazzarre!

My problem wasn't Enable HEN's Icon.

It was after reactivating HEN after quitting a PS2 game.

The HEN's Grey Circle page running on and on and didn't do nothing.

The problem persisted after reboot. And I resolved cleaning all HEN configurations in dev_hdd0

@esc0rtd3w I supose it's maybe collateral effect the LV2 modification made by Sony between FW 4.89 and FW 4.90.

I was using HFW 4.89 and bazzarre 4.90, isn't it?
yes, that is correct,4.89 has never been installed on this PS3.i went straight from 4.88 to 4.90.some issues were being reported around the release time of 4.89 and i'm never online so i stayed on 4.88.

we can not help with stores. (we have a no piracy rule even if it is not games.)

reinstall hen. if it still does not work, reinstall hfw and then hen.

Thanks for answering, I already eliminated the store, reinstall the HFW and then the HEN, but the HEN is stuck in activation ..

I just tested PS2 games with launching and exiting, and when it returns to XMB, the Enable HEN icon works just like normal, and fast. Im not sure what your issue is with that. I have tested on the unreleased 3.2.2, but 3.2.1 should also be the same as far as that goes.

The HEN egg icon hide/show thing in XMB is working fine. No issue. Just like @bazzarre reported.

I start to think it's my USB port occupied by a controller charging which kept my HEN to starting.
I saw reports talking about this. The strange is it's not always occur.

Here is a video (in portuguese) reproducing this issue (thanks to @Mello_1993 ):

Probably it's something about USB verification for files (boot_plugins.txt, etc.) in mass storage devices, but the activation page (grey circle HEN's logo) cannot distinguish types of USB devices and still keep looking the this files forever. It's a theory.

If the problem is really it, I imagine 2 solutions:
1 ) Verification only for mass storage devices for searching files.
2 ) Implements a timeout to HEN continues to activate after that, in case it doesn't find any files despite of USB type device (pendrive, controller, etc.).

Thanks for reply @esc0rtd3w .

I wasn't referring to the show/hide thing, but that also works. When I enable it though, it works fine.

There is nothing the js is looking for on USB during HTML exploit process, so I'm still not sure what your issue was. In your case, HEN was not loading.

I'll check that video you posted.

ok,after doing a few more tests here's whats happening.
originally, while on 4.88HFW/HEN3.1.1 i was having issues with a joypad while playing a psx game.this joypad also caused the "looping" HEN icon, when unplugged HEN always enabled.my wife bought me a new one recently,by this time i'm on 4.90HFW/HEN 3.2.1 so i put the new one on charge and HEN enabling loops until i unplug it,it then enables immediately.
this is not really a problem, nothing else seems to be affected and curiously it just seems to be joypads. FAT32 flash drives/NTFS usb HDDs do not cause this behaviour.both my pads are sony originals but the charge lead isnt,i'm just trying to find another to be sure.
my gaming hasnt been affected at all, except i need to get up every now and again but i need the exercise.

That's strange. I was gonna ask what controller you have, but being they are are both Sony controllers is a bit odd. I would like to test this, but not sure how. Where did you get the USB cord? Any specific brand?

i finally accidentally found your exact problem lol. I bought a second controller today and plugged it in, after i reboot and enable HEN, it hangs, but it does load HEN payload, as seen in socat log.

interestingly, when i powered it down by holding power button, i got more output

if i unplug it and reboot, then try enable HEN again, with only one controller, it loads fine

As soon as i unplug controller it continues loading normally.

Not sure why yet, but we can replicate the problem now for testing.

I have a small problem, as my 2nd controller doesnt stay powered on while unplugged (maybe i need to change battery), could you do a quick test with 2 controllers synced, but not plugged in and then enable HEN?

EDIT: i figured out the problem with controllers. It only hangs when the 2nd controller is plugged in, but not synced, and the check_combo_buttons() function is enabled. So for now, ill just disable that for default.

EDIT2: @aldostools has fixed the bug with pad function. I have added it to GitHub and it will be part of the 3.2.2 release soon.

Hi all
I take it USB headsets now work out of the box? Can't get mine to work anyway, enabled audio library in plugins, headset lights up, but still nothing, doesn't show up in the audio settings.
Maybe my headset is incompatible or am i missing something?
