Just hours after, TheFl0w released his newest H-Encore² Exploit Chain for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV, Compatible with firmwares 3.65 ~ 3.71, Sony retaliated with a new sneaky update - 3.72 today.
This update is not mentioned at the Sony Entertaniment Interactive Website, as of now is still 3.71, although upon downloading the update the MD5 may not match to 3.71 but to 3.72, Sony is known for these sneeky updates, only users on the local hardware will be prompt to update to 3.72.
It seems that this update "3.72" as always is a (Improved System Stability), but thats just a fancy way of saying, the real aim is to patch the newest H-Encore² Exploit Chain, although we don´t know it yet, but the prediction is 99% for H-Encore² Exploit Chain Patching.
For whom is on 3.71 H-Encore² Exploit Chain, there is nothing to worry about PlayStation Store Access, spoofing the firmware to 9.99 or 3.72 will grant you PlayStation Store access and all online functionalities, without the need to update to 3.72, make sure you disable Automatic Updates to avoid updating and loose the ability for the Exploit.
Final verdict, Sony is really trying hard to stop the homebrew and exploit development on a machine that was long abandoned and forgotten by the manufacturer, and was due to the active community and fans alike of the PlayStation Vita/TV that these systems has been kept alive, but it seems Sony is trying to restrict the full potential, but of course that is a question for the masses, if is right or wrong.
Will we be seeing a newer exploit chain for the 3.72, only time will tell, but for now these updates are like Star Wars movies, just to milk the device that has been forgotten, but will Sony Strike Back?
