I have a PS3 Slim CECH-2001A CFW. Recently the Blue Ray Drive started messing up preventing me from running my games in Multiman, so I downloaded the noBD FW and ran the update with no problems.
Afterwards I made the mistake of running another system update for 4.87 and now it is in a constant update loop, erroring out when it run the BD check.
Is it possible to connect my HDD to my computer with a SATA to USB cable, and replace the PS3UPDAT.PUP file on it? If not, is there a way to format the HDD and start it fresh without having to deal with the BD error? I don't mind losing anything as I have all my data backed up.
