Red Screen Of Death

When i load up my PS3 i have the red screen of daeth and it says "A serious error has occurred". I have tried to restore the database and also changed the hard drive and updated the firmware again, still made no difference. Is there a way of fixing this or is it basically knackered?

It is a fat PS3 on OFW 4.82 and model CECHL03. I have an E3 flasher if that can do anything.
According to your 1st post, you can install fw in recovery mode, right?
Have you ever installed a CFW on this console at any point in the past?
If so, QA might already be enabled & you could install ofw 3.55 then use FSM to fix rsod permanently.
Otherwise, you could use the hardware flasher to downgrade to 3.55 then fix rsod under FSM.

I have never tried but in theory it might also be possible to use the hardware flasher with a no-fsm custom hex file to bypass rsod without downgrading.
I guess you would need to dump your nor, apply the no-fsm patch to the dump & apply another patch that replaces basic_plugins.sprx with a modded version that would bypass rsod temporarily. Then you could boot into 4.8x cfw & enter FSM (using CFW Settings) to reinitialise vtrm to fix rsod completely.
On CECH-L, the issue might come back though, even after a full vtrm fix. Hard to tell.

Check the rsod info on the wiki.

bguerville is correct it's very rare that ps3s that have been repaired from rsod stay repaired.
I would recommend,
follow a downgrade tutorial, here's mine -> NorDowngradeVideo
HOWEVER,
follow the process but do not patch the dump to 3.55, patch it to 4.46 (in dumpstatistic),
Then when the console boots asking for an update (as shown in video) do not install a downgrader
just install the latest 4.82 cfw that has rsod bypass. cfw here -> OverflowCEX

Or maybe buy a new ps3 as rsod problems normally come hand in hand with trophy errors later down the line,
that cfw is patched to remove most of the trophy errors associated with rsod ps3s but not all can be stopped.

my little brother accidentally flash cfw in FSM and then it shows rsod i change the harddrive but it shutdown itself and when i try to use e3 flasher on it ps3 shutdown itself?any suggestions

unfortunately, afaik, that system is toast. I don't think you can recover from flashing firmware in fsm.

actually, no, it is not borked. you can even use a flasher during FSM, but you won't exit it magically this way.
sounds like you are still in FSM, so do an official upgrade with lv2diag and 3.55 PUP on usb and then do exit FSM with other lv2diag, BUT only on FW 3.55. if you want to downgrade with E3Flasher, you have to solder tristate.

my ps3 minimum downgrade version is 3.56
and i also flash 4.90 via e3 flasher gnd tri-state is soldering.nothing working for me and i also format the hdd.without gnd tri-state my ps3 turnoff automatically.and i m not able to downgrade nothing showing on screen.
