Thanks. I got the right link now. Although The exploit always fails. I follow all the instructions- set homepage to blank and close the brower and try again but it keeps saying "string not found at...." in the log.

Did you install HFW?

Do you mean HFW PS3Update PUP file? Yes, I went through the process of installing it from the USB stick and going into safe mode to use System Update. Do I have to do it again?

You can try but I'm not sure it'd help.
Also, closing the browser by itself might not do much. Try power cycling your console.

power cycling? do you mean long pressing the button to power it off? or unplug it then press the power button, then plug back in?

usually, power-cycling is unplugging the console, then hard pressing the power button for about 30 seconds. that should flush the memory. I doubt it will solve your issue, but what else is there to try?

Shut down, wait for red led, unplug, wait a couple of minutes then plug it back in and turn on.

power-cycling is what's suggested when reflashing the nand of a 360, though I don't really know if it's necessary. I did encounter once where I got a black screen until I power cycle, so maybe it's worth doing after all. that's for a jtag.

something must've been stuck in memory. it could've been the fault of hfw or hen, who knows? glad you got it sorted though.
