splits

I have played most of my PS3 backups through my usb drive. No complaints in performance. However titles like Vanquish are so large ithey have to be split. Is there no way possible to play spilt games through the flash drive? I use alot of my HD space for PS2 games.

You could always copy a few games that you don't play very often to an external source

If you do alot of rips from disc then I imagine you should have some backups of your games and be able to store/transfer them between an HDD/USB and the PS3

I cannot fit all 60 or so of my PS2 games into my 80GB PS3 so I would just rip all of my PS2 games directly to external harddrive and copy them over whenever I end up getting that nostalgic.

thanks but I realize that I just wondered if there was a way to play this particular game from USB. Most have played but this one won't see to launch from the USB drive

Well the issue at hand hasn't been given some absolute clarity, you simply said that it won't seem to launch from USB and that large ISO's are split

and I play plenty of split ISO's which makes sense if your USB is formatted to FAT32 leading to 4GB splits being necessary

Are you mounting from webMAN or Managunz? I am not most familiar with the 2 but someone else may be... Also have you tried mounting from Multiman to see if it even allows the game to mount or perhaps throws you an error instead?

Could he possibly use NTFS drive instead?

Also upon searching Google for errors that are related to the PS3 version of Vanquish users report that they have a lot of issues with game freezes

Split games on NTFS work with prepISO+webMAN MOD, not with multiMAN.

Split games also work on FAT32 on both backup managers

The split files should be named like:
/dev_usb000/PS3ISO/name.iso.0
/dev_usb000/PS3ISO/name.iso.1
/dev_usb000/PS3ISO/name.iso.2
