Hi, I have a CECHA01 I have been trying to resurrect. I knew the Bluray drive was defective when I got it. I cleaned it, repasted it, and changed the battery. Then I tried to set the clock from the internet and got error 80710A06. Went to update got error 8002F14E. Now I'm stuck in a loop at 88% then reset.

working in a CECHH01 For a temporary swap if needed. I just need to get to CFW. I'm afraid If i swap the drive if it will mess up that system that is currently working?

Do I have to swap in a new drive? is there a way to stop the loop and just upload a jailbreak?

you check error codes HERE

8002F14E says -> Error with installing Firmware update. (BD)Drive not found or disconnected. // or CoreOS region failure when in log "Update Core OS Package done(0x8002f14e)" or Revoke region failure when in log "Update Package Revoke list done(0x8002f14e)"

check the cables of bdvd drive.

Thank you. I have already checked all connections several times, they seem to be good. I thought it was the Bluray drive. I have the top of the Blu-ray drive off right now. I can see the laser power on and move. At 88% it starts moving. almost like it's trying to load but can't, so moves maybe 2mm in each direction over and over until reboot.

I don't know what other troubleshooting steps that I can take.

It sounds like BD drive not attached properly, maybe connector or ribbon cable damaged. Do not assume its connected properly just because it moves or lights come on etc. There are a lot of small pins and they all need to be making a good connection.

Thank you! I actually just got it to finish the update. I took the drive apart like 10 times for like 6 hours. I finally went through and checked every single connection. I guess something was not fully connected as you said. The system was a mess when I got it. Who knows what they did. I guess they were trying to get the disk out but never succeeded. Just glad I was able to bring it back to life. :highly amused:

mine gets struck at %6, does that mean its not the BD? i have a 3001B, everything seems connection, BD takes disk, laser comes on. error 8002F14E
