Hello, i recently bought a second hand PS3 super slim and the fan was making some loud (not extremely loud) noise after minutes turned on, so i have cleaned it and aplied a new thermal paste.
The same fan noise again.
I oppened again and noticed something. There is a piece with a screw on top of the board, which press the heatpipe down to the RSX. The problem is, the metal piece where the screw goes do not stay all the way down, there is a gap, feels like it wasn't applying enough pressure to the RSX, making the heatsink a bit loose too. Now i'm thinking this can make the RSX overheat and that's why the fan kicks too soon.
Can someone confirms if that piece is supposed to be like that? If don't, what can i do?
Thanks.
