PS3 The Rebirth Story of My PS3 Slim 25GT

Is the rebirth story a bit too exaggerated?? Back to the topic!

Hi everyone, I bought a Slim 25GT Titanium Blue, which can install CFW. The seller reported Bluetooth/WIFI not working and some scratches,so I bought it at a cheap price. Surprisingly, this console has only been used for 52 days.

Tested the power rail of the Bluetooth(WIFI) module and found that output is 5.5v,bad voltage converter. I repaired with AMS1117,Yes! the module survived at high voltage.it works!

I DELIDED both IHS, even though dangerous, I did it because I wanted to preserve it and keep it as cool as possible.

Since I'm in OFW, I followed @sandungas' tutorial to customize the syscon temps and fans, and now it behaves similar to the Webman MOD, now it's playing The Last of Us for 2 hours, Cell: 66 RSX: 70 degrees, fan at 40%(AC Off,AC on at 38% ), the original syscon fan is always at 28%, even when RSX has reached 79 degrees.

Another mod from sandungas is enable hide LED on the switch panel. I think the titanium blue with blue LED looks great!

I installed @RIP-Felix's Cell Bracer, I have two Sony refurbished CECHA/B 40nm Frankensteins both with it, I only have PETG filament and my friend helped print it with ASA.

Regarding the heatsink, the 20xx and 21xx heatsinks are not compatible with the 25xx. I didn't want to cut the RF Shield, so I had to give up on this. The 20xx heatsink installed on the 25xx will definitely have excellent heat dissipation performance.

I also installed SSD,other people's tests show that it can slightly shorten the loading time.

This is my modification journey for this PS3 Slim. Thanks for the tutorials and experience provided by the predecessors.

Thanks for sharing your modifications and success story. It's great that we have the ability, and knowledge, to keep these older consoles running smoother and better. Agreed, we have many people to thank that contributed to the successful repairs of this great console and shared their information.

Just recently, I too have done a couple of mods to a 2001A slim. Like you, I've de-lidded and applied MX4, added a 1 TB Samsung EVO SSD and 3D printed a cell spacer. Prior to people releasing the STL file, I actually took the time and measured out my own then drew it up in Solidworks and sent it to the 3D printer.
