Hi, I have a cecha00 that I bought in Japan and checking the uptime it's only 22 days, I wanna know if you need to replace thermal paste and pads or do I have to delid the PS3,
Thanks
Of course it's worth doing the delid and thermal pads replacement, as these thermal compounds from the factory are very crappy one and it dries years ago.

Yes you need to change, the ps3 fat even unused is old and the thermal paste has already dried up, I use the zf-ex paste on my ps3 slim and it works fine. delid is dangerous look for someone who already has experience in doing.

I'm not going to encourage OP to do the delid, but I delidded my own CECHB00 without any experience, meaning I haven't done it before. I merely watched a lot of youtube videos about that and I tried it. With success - the most crucial thing is not to hurry up!. Personally, I find this video as most helpful for me when it comes to CELL (it's in Polish, but it doesn't matter, what this guy is doing, speaks for itself):
And I used this pattern to delid the RSX (the process starts at around 6:10, I heated up the IHS ofc, I don't have the heatgun, but I just used the hair dryer, heated up the IHS for around 30s on highest temp of hair dryer and removed the IHS with no problems):
I did replace the thremal paste and pads seems console doesn't reach more then 75c cell 67c rsx compared to before which it almost reached 80c cell 75c rsx!
