PS3 webMAN MOD 1.41.30 Released

A few updates have been made to webMAN Mod since we last reported it. Since just over a week ago developer Aldostools had added some http commands, a great idea, that allows you to rebuild database, enter 'recovery mode' and reboot your PS3. In version 1.41.30, which was released yesterday, you will notice the inclusion of the ps3mapi updates and also some style sheet fixes and improvements.

I got exactly your issue. I tested with Habib cobra 4.70, Webman 1.40.31 and PSNpatch 4.70.02. Whenever I used combo L3+R3+R2 to disable CFW, go online then the next startup, I got message that PS3 did not shutdown correctly and file system need to be checked. I just wonder should I come back webman 1.40.26 as kapa mentioned.

Same problem here. I'll back webman 1.40.26.

Here comes another TEST BUILD:
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server.sprx

Changes in this TEST BUILD labeled 1.41.32:
- Added support for /dev_sd, /dev_ms, /dev_cf (the scanning options are disabled by default, and they will not be visible on /setup.ps3 unless you have a card inserted)
- Added support to recognize game cover from file names in "Open PS2 Loader" style (gameid.name.iso) Thank to xntrzcc for the suggestion
- Changed the way fan control mode is restored when the plugin is unloaded or when a PS2 game is mounted.

It is very important to receive enough feedback about this last change (unloading the plugin or playing PS2 games). The reason of this change is due I have received some feedback from Joonie about fan control not returning to syscon mode when changing to CFW without plugin support... So be warned: THIS TEST BUILD HAS CHANGES IN THE WAY FAN CONTROL RESTORES ITS SETTINGS!!!!

Maybe this change could also help with the issue of fan control at full speed, but I don't have a ps3 phat to verify it.

I cant test right now (not home) but when time allows later i will be sure to test.

On my SLIM i noticed anytime i install a new firmware (which is not often) then on first boot.. Fan would keep getting louder until i disabled the fan control in webMAN setup and then re-enabled the fan control. Then all was fine after.

It happens to me everytime that i unload webman from the memory, i've made the test of unload psnpatch and leave webman plugin mounted and ps3 works normaly, so for me the issue is with the latest versions of webman / with the plugin when unmounted with the combo L2+R2+R3

There are many variables involved that could be causing the issue:
- A new Cobra
- 2 plugins loaded (Maybe psnpatch is leaving a thread running when you unload webMAN)
- A new version of webMAN MOD (however, I haven't had this issue with the lastest builds)

I'd suggest you try different scenarios:
- Try unloading webMAN MOD without loading psnpatch.
- Try perform an unmount before quiting (webMAN creases multiple threads, some are created with you mount a NTFS game or ps3netsvr)
- Try unloading webMAN MOD with different methods: /quit.ps3 or L2+R2+R3 or leave it running
- Try disabling Cobra and install webMAN MOD with MAMBA Loader or Auto MAMBA Loader or just prx loader.
- Try disabling scan for content on startup (maybe webMAN is still scanning when you restart)

Just uninstalled habibs cobra and went back to darknet.
Everything's working fine again. :)
Tested ps patch .02 + .05 on webman mod .31

Tried webman mod .32 out on my cechl02.
Still suffers from full speed fan at startup with dynamic fan control enabled.
Works as usual with it disabled.

Cant leave it enabled in case I have to use recovery at night, damn thing will wake up the entire house!
Sounds like my old 7970 at full blast. :)

Thank you for your feedback...

I'm also interested to know if ps2 games respect the fan settings in /setup.ps3 and if unloading the plugin manually is returning the fan settings to syscon mode, due these were the main changes that I did. I was hoping the fix for fan at full speed as a 'side effect', but it seems that the changes did not help to solve that annoying bug :(

i am using the fancontrol also on my 2nd cechl testps3 and i am aware of this bug. but somehow it only occurs, if you shutdown ps3 "officially" without syscalls (during update or from xmb menu). that is, when going to standby, so i guess there is not much we can do? maybe make a check, if ps3 is shutdown officially?

on ps2 i have set min speed to 50% and as soon as i only mount ps2 game the fan goes back to 50, even if it was on higher frequency. this quick reboot that is done with ps2emu does not disturb the fan in its setting and will remain when you exit the game. though, it does not increase or decrease speed for me with ps2emu

Still haven't had chance to play with ps2 games. Ran into the ps2 launcher turning webman into an empty folder again.
Even the rebug launcher won't work this time.

I'll be so damn happy when my new console arrives and I don't need to use launchers!
Just the small matter of downgrading it lol.

Thanks haxxxen for your feedback. Well, it seems that we will have to wait until a workaround for the "fan at full speed at startup" is discovered :(

Regarding the fan control when a PS2 game is mount, I have addressed 2 issues that I just found:
1-The fixed fan speed is now set also for PS2 Classics. It was being set only for PS2ISO.
2-The fixed fan speed could be modified by the dynamic fan control, if the user doesn't launch the PS2 game immediately. So now I disable the *dynamic fan control* while the PS2 settings are in effect, until webMAN is re-launched (returning from a PS2 session or reboot) or until another game is mounted or unmounted.

Here is the updated build: http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server.sprx

Additionally, now it displays the game ID if the option is enabled and a titleid was found. Previously it was displayed only if the titleid was read from PARAM.SFO

Is this test a Rebug Cobra multi build or which type is it if you don't mind me asking?

Not on Rebug ATM anyhow was just curious. Well I'm on Rebug but 4.46.1 so this will be just fine. Thanks as always for your dedication ;-)

Nice, I've been comparing and editing xml files and trying to work out why my system is still having the issues with the ps2 loader.
I thinks its an issue with the loader itself. Looking via ftp the PS2U10000 folder itself seems to be hidden. Only appearing after enabling show hidden files via filezilla.
Wondering if that has something to do with webman not seeing it properly.
Too tired to play anymore tonight, on the upside I got rid of a whole bunch crap on my xmb while I was at it.
Dunno if it will stick, cant seem to change permissions.

Update: Everything's working mint after whatever I done last night!
Ps2 isos are syncing, webmans working, Netflix, singstar, app_home and something else I never used are gone.
Happy days for the cechl02 :)

I think part of the problem I was having with the ps2 launcher was that I hadn't used it before.
Once I got it setup and running fine, then enabled it in webman it was all good.

Might be a good time to do a new backup!

I also had some issues too with habib cobra, though it was a weird one. already posted on the habib cobra thread.

Yeah on darknet 4.70 cobra 7.03

For ps2 games you basically just need to convert one of them to a psclassic.
You do that with multiman, just restart it into normal mode then press x on one of your ps2 isos.
Then make an empty file called classic_ps2 in /dev/hdd0
Then load that classic with webmanand run ps2 classic placeholder. (I'm using the rebug one).
Hopefully your controller should sync up wirelessly.
If so exit the game unmount and delete it if you want. (the iso will still be there)
Delete the classic_ps2 file you created and you should be done.
Just load your ps2 isos as normal and run them through the placeholder app.

A bit confusing at first but I've got wireless sync now and it seems to be holding :)

Thanks for the great info.
just a few questions. other than the webman and psnpatch issues u had on habib cobra, was there any other one issues?
which is more stable as youve used both, darknet or habib cobra?
You mentioned rebug placeholder, where can i download that?

Thanks

Only issue I really had on habibs was the triple beep on shutdowns followed by disk check every startup.
Not quite sure what was causing that though.
Other then that everything's pretty much the same.
Pretty sure you should find rebugs placeholder on brewology.
