PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

I'm not getting installed automatically by pressing L1 or R1, do not understand what I'm doing wrong, because since the release of Webman 1:43:15 my PS3 does not install the VSH menu by pressing L1 or R1 also do not understand whyaldostools insists never help me, what harm I did to him?

Can you help me find the archive:
-boot_plugins.txt
-wm_vsh_menu.sprx
-the sprx file + the images

I do not know where to find the boot_plugins.txt file already edited and ready, have insecurity edit it, could pass me he's ready along with the other files you need?

Please'm newbie and just ask for help because I need help from someone who understands.
Aldo is busy developing for us & we should all be thankful for that. He is not here to answer all the questions..

What CFW do you use?

boot_plugins.txt is located at the root of your internal drive. /dev_hdd0
You need to edit it with a text editor to add one line to it :
/dev_hdd0/plugins/wm_vsh_menu.sprx

Then you must get the sprx file & the images folder. You have 2 options (on top of [MENTION=16889]psydefx[/MENTION] option ):

1. Install the updater on your PS3 & go into /dev_hdd0/game/UPDWEBMOD with multiMAN or Irisman to locate & copy the wm_vsh_menu.sprx + the images folder to /dev_hdd0/plugins

2. In the source code, using the github.com/Matsumot0/webMAN-MOD repository or the last RAR file (a few posts above in this thread), go to updater/pkgfiles/USRDIR, you will find the .sprx file and the images folder there & copy them into to /dev_hdd0/plugins

Of course when you have finished these steps, you need to reboot for changes to take effect!

My CFW is HABIB 4.76 (Cobra 7:20).
There is a logical reason I can not install automatically pressing L1 or R1?
Unintentionally abuse, you can level up the files needed for manual installation, I have trouble finding these files.
Thank you!

Try editing the line 227 in combos.h
Code:
if(data.button[CELL_PAD_BTN_OFFSET_DIGITAL2] == (CELL_PAD_CTRL_R2 | CELL_PAD_CTRL_L2) )
	{[color=blue]memset(msg, 0, 200);[/color] saveBMP(msg, true); sys_timer_sleep(2);} // L2 + R2 + SELECT + START

Why Bayonetta (test with BLES00599) not work via ps3netsrv? After start exit to XMB without errors. Another games works fine. ISO or JB-folder - doesm't matter.

All the remote games in ISOs are mounted in the same way. Same for JB-folders.
So if the other games work, Bayonetta should work too, unless your game is corrupted, a bad dump or the antivirus on the PC was locking the file when you tested it...

webMAN MOD sometimes reports an error if the game takes too much time to mount. But after a while the BD icon appears on XMB and you can ignore the error.

This is a new *test build* for prepNTFS 1.12
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/prepNTFS_1.12.pkg

Changelog:
* It now scans ISOs in ext0/ext1/ext2/ext3 devices, in addition to NTFS
* Now PS3 ISOs that require a higher firmware are auto-fixed.
It may take a longer time to scan, but the games that require a higher firmware now should work.
Before this update, webMAN was not able to play these games stored on NTFS unless they were fixed using IRISMAN or fixed manually on the PC.
* /MOVIES, /VIDEO, /PKG and /Packages folders are now scanned and create a fake .ntfs[BDFILE] for any file with extension .pkg, .mp4, .mkv, .avi, .mpg, .flv or .wmv
* Any file placed in /BDFILE will be cached as .ntfs[BDFILE]. This can be useful to copy files to HDD, install PUP, etc.
* Other bug fixes.

Please test and report any issue.

quick question, if i have a 256gb usb drive, is there a way i can partition it so i could have a fat32 and ntfs partition and have webman read both partitions? i plan to put jb rips on the fat32 and isos on ntfs.

Even if this is possible, is not good idea.. Isn't better use just one partition for both types of backups?

Edit. Or just convert games to iso..

As kozarovv suggested, it's not a good idea.

Instead, convert all your games to ISO and format your usb drive as ntfs... but you will have limited access to other files from XMB.
Or format it as fat32, and convert your games as multi-part ISOS. This let you have JB games and ISO, and also access media files like mp3, photos, videos (<4GB), etc. from XMB

I personally prefer fat32... and use a pendrive formatted in ntfs when I need to copy large files that cannot be split.

It works fine for me at least, I parted two partitions, 500g for Fat32, and 1.3tb for ntfs. I can install pkgs , pups, play folder formats and ISO.

No, anoher people tell me about Bayonetta and I'm test it too - mount fine and exit in XMB after start via ps3netsrv. Start via /dev_hdd0/GAMES fine!

We should make some poll here :p I'm also FAT only user (even without ntfs pendrive, for fast moving files i'm using external ftp app), and after testing a lot of games on splitted iso format only GT6 have problems (+200 tested) with little bit slower loadings. more than 199 games work fine for me. :) But like was mentioned before, yes you can have 2 different partitions and both will be recognized by webman (ntfs=prepntfs).

Try playing it as ISO through ps3netsvr... maybe ps3netsvr cannot manage the file structure of this game.

are they both detected by webman?

I've been doing this since 4.46 and webman came out, it has been working fine almost two years.

Yes they are detected on webMAN but for NTFS you need prepNTFS like [MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION] stated

You need to use 3k3y's isotool otherwise it won't work unless it's in folder format, I have EU/US/JP versions of that game and all in working condition as ISO.
