webMAN MOD

PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

Running on Rebug 4.75.3 REX CFW on a 2504B..
I have been experiencing some problems with vsh_menu, with versions 0.8 & 0.9. I need to check previous versions.

Most features from Menu for webMAN do not work. The plugin itself doesn't crash but the functions are not completed properly.

For example, unmount does not unmount. It beeps but that's it.
Fan control, system info, refresh XML... None of it works for me.

Screenshot, shutdown & restart seem to be the only features that work fine so far.

Has anybody else had these problems?

In the menu for Rebug, all entries seem to be working apart from the unload vsh_menu feature. Again it beeps & the menu disappears but the plugin remains loaded & can be called back up

Unloading the plugin using PS3MAPI works fine however.

I have some issue to raise about disabling webMAN-MOD.
Using the option renames /dev_flash
/vsh/modules/webftp_server.sprx to webftp_server.sprx.vsh however to enable it again, I had to rename back webftp_server.sprx manually as the 'Enable webMAN' entry in Rebug Toolbox disappears.

We could maybe rename webftp_server.sprx in the same fashion as the Rebug Toolbox does, with a .bak extension?

Wouldn't a 'toggle webMAN-MOD' be better?

Also, after testing & tweaking I realised there may be a small issue with the webMAN-MOD updater.
If there was no existing boot_plugins.txt on /dev_hdd0 (Rebug with webMAN-MOD enabled but without other plugin), the updater would not create a new one to add vsh_menu.
Atm on my system, to get vsh_menu to work, the boot_plugins.txt file must be created & edited manually.

Probably you need to update webMAN MOD to 1.43.07 or later. e.g. VSH Menu for webMAN v0.9 is a WIP and it requires 1.43.10 (also WIP)

I am running your latest 1.43.10. I compiled it as well as the updater & it works fine. Apart fron vsh_menu!

Oh I didn't know either :backfire: Anyway I guess it is harder to copy/paste the values from a popup than from a browser ;)

BTW I have updated the plugin again with some exciting features. Try: :L2:+:R2:+:o: on XMB :) Also the VSH Menu has 2 new options.
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/wm_vsh_menu.rar

Some examples of the new features are:
/klic.ps3 (in-game)

run these while you're on XMB:
Code:
/browser.ps3*search:webman
/browser.ps3/
/browser.ps3/setup.ps3
/browser.ps3/index.ps3
/browser.ps3?http://ps3.aldostools.org

The new combos are:
:L2:+:R2:+:o: -> /
:L2:+:R2:+:L1:+:o: -> /cpursx.ps3
:L2:+:R2:+:R1:+:o: -> /index.ps3
:L2:+:R2:+:L1:+:R1:+:o: -> /setup.ps3

They can be disabled unchecking the combo: SHOW IDPS : R2+O on /setup.ps3
I tried...very nice Aldo. The webMAN page for Setup, File Manager they look different (more agreeable) if calls via combos
I also tried the news commands from PC browser, including "/klic.ps3" and they work well.
"/klic.ps3" "/klic.ps3" shows klicense... but PSNpatch plugin on PS3 it shows Dev_klic

From me the options VSH Menu for Unmount Game, Refresh XML and also new entries for webMAN work well.
The only issue It is with "Fan Mode" option, when switching from Dynamic to Manual the fan does not go 37% (set value) but a value that seems random...sometimes 54% or 56% or 58% or 63%, etc.

I get the same problems with vsh_menu on both CEX & DEX, using webMAN-MOD 1.43.09 with vsh_menu 0.8 or webMAN-MOD 1.43.10 with vsh_menu 0.9

littlebalup's older features are still working in both cases but none of the newly added ones are.

Testing lead to loading & unloading the plugin via ps3mapi & I noticed numerous times that, once unloaded & reloaded, the plugin could not be launched with the select button anymore. I am not sure this is separate to my other problems or not.

I will try all these issues on a 2104A with the same CFW setup later on & report.
Any ideas in the meantime guys?

Can you try this new *test* build?
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/wm_vsh_menu.rar *THIS IS NOT A FINAL RELEASE YET, BUT IT COULD BE*

bguerville please confirm that webMAN MOD says 1.43.10 and the vsh menu says 0.9. It's possible that you're still using the lite build that comes with rebug.

I have addressed the following issues:
- The PS2 discs remained displayed on XMB when the disc was unmounted. Maybe the work around that I used also fixes other potential issues.
- Changing the fan mode from dynamic to manual, there was a delay of 0.5 secs while dynamic fan control was checking the temps. If the mode was changed to manual, after the delay the fan control could change it back to another random value.
- The VSH Menu now uses much less CPU. The frame display now uses cached values refreshed at different intervals, instead of get them on each frame (~12 times per second).
CFW version is loaded once, temps are updated every 3 secs, devices are updated every 6 secs, ip address and payload type are updated once every time the menu is enabled.
- Improved pad response when VSH Menu is on, keeping the same frame rate (~12Hz).

New features:
- In addition to the combos to open the browser directly from XMB, the new /browser.ps3 command and the 2 new menu options in VSH Menu.
- This build adds the combo L2+START to quickly *launch* the mounted game (disc icon) while being on XMB (no matter which column or option you have selected)
- Once a game is mounted via html, if you click on the displayed icon the game will be launched on the PS3. This is nice to start the game once it's mounted from your mobile :) This option uses the new command /play.ps3
- Added support for explore plugin commands using /browser.ps3$<command>

BTW Happy 1st Birthday to psx-place!

I finished testing 1.43.09 & 1.43.10 on a 2104A. I am getting the same issues with vsh_menu as I described earlier on a 2504B.

But if noone else has problems then something is wrong...

[MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION]

I confirm using the right versions webMAN-MOD 1.43.09 with vsh_menu 0.8 & webMAN-MOD 1.43.10 with vsh_menu 0.9 (yes I made sure & checked on screen version info! ☺).

Just downloaded your last test build.
Will give it a run later on tonight & report. Thanks aldo.

Thank you for your feedback. I reverted the change about the disc unmount, but this time I added more wait time after disc eject. It seems to solve the issue that I had unmounting PS2ISO.
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/wm_vsh_menu.rar

This build I also included a test build IRISMAN (only the RELOAD.SELF) with the new Game Boot method: "Auto-Play [wMM]".
In this mode, webMAN MOD auto-launches the mounted game when IRISMAN returns to XMB.

Edit: Added option for "Global Auto-Play [wMM]". To set it, configure a PS3 game, then select "Auto-Play [wMM]" and press :X: to enable/disable the Global option.

Enabling "Global Auto-Play [wMM]" all the mounted games will be auto-launched (PS3, PS2 & PSX).

Aldo these are my test results:
- Now mounting a game with webMAN It show Disc icons in the column Game.
- Unmout PS2 ISO works but a strange thing, in shows info (Start + Select) FAN speed displayed is 0%
- combo L2+START works
- "Global Auto-Play [wMM]" works too. I use only ISO games....I realized only after the option was for games jb/folder format (I had to extract ISO) :D... the game is loaded correctly (I tried need for speed rivals)

EDIT:
ah...also shutdown/reboot and unload VSH Menu options work correctly

Thanks for the report. I have addressed this issue above (FAN speed shown as 0%). Now START+SELECT and /cpursx.ps3 will show if the fan is set to PS2 Mode speed.
When the fan control is restored it will return to manual speed as the initial speed.

Test build: http://aldostools.org/temp/test/wm_vsh_menu.rar

A new feature: /play.ps3?col=network&seg=seg_premo <- this will start Remote Play server from XMB.

Finally. Got wm_vsh_menu working perfectly using the latest test build. Great...
As a result, I investigated what could be wrong with my recompiled plugins & found the root of the issue I experienced earlier.
A new #define was missing in my Rebug/PS3MAPI flags.h...
Ok everybody can laugh, I deserve it. My bad.

All new features have now been successfully tested.
No issue to report.

+ Global Auto-Play (wMM) works great.
+ Irisman changes are cool.
+ Mounted PS2 ISO disc unmount works.
+ Combo L2+Start works.
- No issue with fan percentage in System Info after changing fan mode.

I particularly like the Copy disc to HDD feature in wm_vsh_menu.
Have been able to extract 2 ISOs in the background while streaming a video on Movian. Very cool...

I tried PS2ISO and the FAN 0% issue in show info is fixed, now fan speed is displayed correctly.
Also the switching of FAN Mode to PS2 games work and return to initial mode/speed when the PS2 ISO is unmounted
