PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

[MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION]
Am facing an issue I hope you can help me with. Am on Rebug 4.78.1 & wMM 1.43.26 (build from a few days ago) .

If I use wMM browser.ps3 command to open an html page (or a txt/cfg.. file) located on PS3 internal HDD,
The url would be something like this;
hxxp://localhost/browser.ps3/dev_hdd0/tmp/test.html
If I open this url directly with the PS3 browser, it works perfectly. There is no problem.
But
If I open it using Irisman's browser.self I get a wMm page with ERROR: Not in XMB!
(with 1.43.25 Rebug I seem to get a 400 Bad Request instead)

The only way to view the page with the Irisman browser is to use
hxxp;//localhost//dev_hdd0/tmp/test.html

Is this normal?

It also seems that some other commands don't work with the Irisman 3.50.8 browser.
If I enter localhost/restart.ps3, or popup.ps3/... , buzzer.ps3mapi....I just get a black page, nothing happens....
However I can access setup.ps3 & from there the Restart button & the ps3mapi buzzer work..

The situation is exactly the same with the browsers in Gamesonic & multiMAN...

If someone other than aldo were going to test this & report? It'd be greatly appreciated.

IRISMAN, GSM and multiMAN use the same applet browser.self from multiMAN.

I didn't get errors opening the following url from the Internet Browser of IRISMAN 3.50.8 and running webMAN MOD 1.43.26:
Code:
http://localhost/buzzer.ps3mapi?mode=1

Also the following url working without issues.
Code:
http://localhost/popup.ps3/test

Are you entering the protocol http: // as prefix?

The command /browser.ps3 that open urls in the ps3 browser only works when called from XMB, not from in-game (e.g. IRISMAN's Internet Browser)

Other /browser.ps3 commands like /browser.ps3$rsx_pause, /browser.ps3$disable_syscalls, etc. work from in-game.

Yes I always use the prefix.
But it doesn't matter, with or without the prefix, the command
localhost/browser.ps3/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt
opens the browser with the file contents on the PS3 browser but wMM gives me an error if I use the browser.self applet.

I tried opening various text files on localhost (including boot_plugins.txt, cfw_settings.log, among others) and always I got an empty black screen.
The issue should be the applet browser.self. The files show fine using the PS3 browser and Chrome on the PC and on Android.

However, if you open boot_plugins.txt using the IRISMAN's File Manager the file shows fine on browser.self, which is really weird because it uses the same url but inside an iframe.

I don't use "browser" flag. [MENTION=2198]bguerville[/MENTION] you should start compiling your own webman

1.43.26 ? where's that ? I see no topic about it , and what's the changelog of 1.43.26 ? :)
1.43.26 is the latest build
Aldo always puts online his latest sprx, pkg & source rar files.
It's there whether it's been officially announced or not. It's just a matter of checking the URL for its existence....

I do recompile wMM myself but in this particular case, the point was to modify Irisman source to add a feature that would use the browser.ps3 web command in wMM without necessarily having to recompile it so other people could use it without a need for wMM modding & recompiling.
The full edition of wMM has PS3_BROWSER flag anyway.I tested with 1.43.26 & 1.43.20 Full edition.
I only mentioned 1.43.25 Rebug Mod for the difference in error message when PS3_BROWSER is not enabled, the 400 error being logical in that case.

If the browser.ps3 command is not supported in-game as Aldo just mentioned then it explains a lot.

What about using a WM Request from Irisman? Would the issue be exactly the same because we're in-game?
The strange thing though is I am 100% certain that I got browser.ps3 to work using the self applet. It was way back with 1.43.10 or 11... How could that be?

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker here for a while but I had to sign up now to ask about a recent issue of mine.

I like to install PSN games to my external HDD so I use the external gamedata webman mod function. It was working fine just as recent as 2 weeks ago. Tried toggling the mode today and noticed it wasnt working anymore. Just spits out error code 400 Bad Request (like user otyg posted on Page 80). The only things I changed on my PS3 was I updated to Rebug 4.78.1 (using webman mod 1.43.25 Rebug edition). Updated Multiman to 4.78 and installed Movian v4.99.701 which came out just a few days ago. I have tried rolling back to Rebug REX 4.76.1 but external game data is still not working. Any help would be much appreciated.

Update the latest webMAN MOD, REBUG edition never supported ex data feature..

If the flag PS3_BROWSER is not added, wMM will return error 400.

Some browser.ps3 commands are supported in-game. The commands like browser.ps3?Page Not Found: any-url, browser.ps3/setup.ps3, browser.ps3$screenshot_xmb are the ones not supported in-game.

WM Request works like any URL request from a browser. So it should behave the same.
Maybe the /browser.ps3 command that you tested on 1.43.10 was one of the commands supported in-game, like: /brower.ps3$disable_syscalls, /brower.ps3$block_servers, etc.

Hi, got an issue with the new webman mod, PSX games are showing up twice (one for the .bin and another for the .cue). Any ideas or is this something that needs fixing in the next version?

Are you having this issue only with PSX games on /net server? If so, try re-downloading the pkg for 1.43.26.

Thanks, I re-downloaded using the link from ps3.aldostools instead, installed that and PSX games displayed correctly. All working now, great work.

After the usage of "Rebuild Database", the WM-Folder "XMBMANPLS" under /dev_hdd0/game/, is marked as "Corrupt Files" in the XMB.
Is there another possibillity to fix this (e.g. folder remapping, ...?)

Greetz...

Greetz...

Reinstalling XMBMANPLS should fix the issue.

Or delete the corrupted icon and reinstall webMAN MOD.

Yes Aldo, i know. I did it (Reinstalling: XMBMANPLS) every time, after the usage of "Rebuild Database"

I only want to know, if there would be a better another possibility in future in WM?

Emmmm..., an stupid idea:
Folder "XMBMANPLS" not in "/dev_hdd0/game/" but in "/dev_hdd0/tmp/"?

Anyway, thx for ya excellent work & for the answers.

I was just thinking something similar, have the folder elsewhere. but may not be possible/practical.

It is not a stupid idea... but I don't think it's necessary to move the files. I have rebuilt the database several times and I never got the corrupted XMBMANPLUS.

I could move the file to /tmp if the issue is recurrent and happening to various users.

I opted to use /dev_hdd0/game/XMBMANPLS because the menu was integrated also in XMB Manager+ (which was created years before webMAN and it used that path in hdd0/game).
