PS4 What just happened to my PS4 Pro?

I have one of the later revisions of the pro, the CUH-7202B. I was playing Yakuza 6 earlier when my console seemed to freeze for a split second, then instantly powered off. I immediately thought it was a power outage but quickly realized that wasn't the case, as all my other electronics were still on. I knew something wasn't right because usually when PS4's freeze, they blue screen and ask you to send an error report, but this completely turned off my unit.
Upon booting up again, it went straight to the safe mode system file check screen. This completed and it eventually got me back into the home screen, but I noticed the UI was very laggy and also my wallpaper was gone. I then clicked into the PSN icon and my system shut off again. This time I could almost make out the sound of when it powered off and it sounded like when you pull the power on an electrical device. Hard to explain but sounded like a PSU whining down.
Anyway I tried to turn it on again and it immediately went back to the safe mode file system check and didn't even reach half way and shut off again. Now, each time I power it on, I just get a pulsating blue light. I've changed HDMI and power cables, swapped HDD and none of this makes a difference. I have no idea how this system could BLOD. I always pampered this unit and kept it practically dust free by opening the top case and blowing the air out of the fan area. I almost never hear the fan speed up unless it's a very demanding game, like COD 4.
What I'm most worried about is my save data. the backups in the cloud are from a long while ago and I really want to get my most current data back. Is there some way that I can extract just the save data from my HDD using a PC or another ps4? I could care less about anything else I had on the system.

Sounds like PSU issue or overheating issue.

Once You have switched to another HDD, You cannot use old HDD without formatting it first.

To have access to PS4 HDD on PC You need EAP and SAMU keys (EAP is sufficient for user partition decryption).

But saves are in PFS containers and keys for them are in SAMU, which can be retrieved by known way on fw v6.72 only. Getting them out from HDD is halfway journey. I don't know how those are forged, but if they are using per account info You will be unable to use them after format (they use for sure per console info so cannot be used on another PS4). In addition, if You saving in games run from fake packages without injecting keystone from original disc, you will be unable to use them in original games or in backups with different keystones.

Instead relying on so-called cloud, You should making copy from time to time on USB, in official way. Those PFS are encrypted by static key which all PS4 and PS5 have, and signed only per user NP Account ID (which can be added on hacked consoles by homebrew or on not hacked consoles by Sony just log-in to SEN).

Just in case anyone can help, I sent this into a repair shop who specialise in console repair and they basically told me they don't know what is causing the error.

They didn't mention the chip or other component at all. I'm getting the idea they might not have been as knowledgeable or willing as I thought.
I am going to pick this up now.

Is there anything else I could possibly do to diagnose or try to temporarily revive the unit so I can get my save data off it?
