XMB Manager Plus mod 0.23.000-mod by aldostools for COBRA!

This is a fork of the official XMBM+ that I originally developed for personal use on 3.55 Kmeaw.
Now I adapted the category_games.xml to work with webMAN + XMB Manager Plus on COBRA 7.0

Easy install on Cobra 7: (may not contain latest version of XMBM+)

or

Manual installation
1. Install a Cobra CFW. - (XMBM+ can be used also on non-Cobra CFW.)
2. Install multiMAN 04.66.08 (or later if available) - http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24
3. Launch multiMAN, go to Settings column and enable the option "Write access to dev_flash" (it's the 2nd option from bottom)
4. Go to multiMAN's mmOS (File Manager) pressing [Select] + [Start] buttons
5. Copy webftp_server.sprx (version 1.41.x) to the root of /dev_hdd0/

Official version of webMAN-MOD by M@tsumoto and aldostools:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD

Use PRX Loader by u$er to launch webMAN manually on non-Cobra CFW:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=243
(use new_core from Estwald to auto-start PRX Loader on system boot)

Latest webMAN MOD versions are available here:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=257

Latest official versions are always here:

6. Copy the included boot_plugins.txt to the root of /dev_hdd0/
7. Copy the included category_game.xml to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ (do not edit this file unless you know what you're doing)
8. Reboot.
9. Install the included xmbmanplus_hdd.pkg
10. Enjoy XMBM+ on COBRA 7.0!
NOTE: For support of /PS3ISO, /PSXISO, /DVDISO and /BDISO content on external drives with NTFS file system, install and execute prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs.
Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN's data.

How to update XMB Manager Plus (mod)
1. Click the About option in XMB Manager Plus mod for the update option
2. If there is an update, you will be prompted to download the file (Save in the downloaded pkg in the root of the USB drive)
3. Install the downloaded pkg from Install Package Files
4. Refresh XMB launching any application (eg. BD Reset) and returning to XMB.

Thanks to:
  • DeanK for the awesome webftp_server.sprx
  • COBRA's lead developer for the release of the unofficial Cobra 7.0
  • user for PRX LOADER
  • Team XMBM+: andreus(coding), bitsbubba(coding, themes), DeViL303(coding, POC/WIP) ps3Hen (coding, 4.00 port), aldostools(coding), CloneD(themes), Berion(logos)
  • dreamcat4 for the suggested .xml method and exofreak for his POC release of launch games through XMB using webMAN.

so... new version when? :D

never ever used this but after watching the video i do want to use it now, them problem is that i can't install it on rebug 4.78.1

Months ago, I started to look into allowing downloads to internal hdd instead of usb device only. It nearly worked, the file gets downloaded 100% (even background download!) , but an error was thrown at the end of the process. We thought It might have been due to the whitelist you mentioned. The whitelists would be different for internal hdd & external device.
I started a thread about this (sandungas was very helpful & knowledgeable about xml & rco too btw).

If you get anywhere, it could help with solving this problem too.

Before someone posts it, yes I know the browser in multiman allows you to download to internal. We would like to do that with the internal browser too!

Have you tried redirecting a folder in USB000 to hdd0 with something like this:
Code:
sys_map_path((char*)"/dev_usb000/DOWNLOADS", (char*)"/dev_hdd0/packages");

Hey sorry yea most if not all my projects are out of date, hopefully tonight I'll be getting Cobra CFW Tools up to date to where you could use it to install the latest XMBM+ on the most current of CFWs (latest REBUG included) for now. I do have alot of ideas/plans to do other updates.

Your cobra tool's work fine with the new rebug release BTW,
Loving the XMBM+ back on games collumn

Why can't you install on 4.78.1?
It works fine on mine both in CEX & DEX.

after installing xmbmodman and this pkg, there is no option on xmbmodman to actually activate xmbm+. will try later with cobra cfw tools
Have you read the OP?
category_game.xml is not changed automatically so you must do it manually since 4.70. On Rebug 4.78.1 only, you can use the Plus pkg.

Also FYI the category_game.xml (and category_game_tool2.xml for DEX) are not all interchangeable, You must use the ones that correspond to your CFW.
Cobra CFW Tools is being updated. The old version will not install the right files.
It's easy enough to edit your original xml files if you needed to though.

XMBMODMAN lists the options of PACKAGE MANAGER XMB only on 4.21, 4.30, 4.46, 4.50, 4.53, 4.50, 4.60 and 4.66. I think Brunolee made it firmware specific due the rco installed by the pkg.

I only meant in recent CFWs.
Good to have the exact list though.

No C coding, we tried the xml modding route. Unfortunately it seems that another system file needs patched to allow all mime types to be written on internal hdd. As is, it's likely that only audio/video/picture files are ok to download with this method, nothing else...

Otherwise by using your snippet, we could temporarily redirect using something in memory like wMM for example (a combo or even better, enabling/disabling the redirection automatically when the browser starts/closes)?

Hey i installed "XMB Manager Plus.pkg" on Rebug 4.78.1. I only can see the XMB Manager Plus menu point when i set "XMB Operation Mode" to "Retail", when i set it to "Debug" i' just have the normal menu points like "My Games", etc..

Is that normal behaviour or did i do something wrong?

So "category_game_tool2.xml" is for the debug version of the XMB menus and "category_game.xml" is for the retail version of the XMB menus?

So maybe they had a reason, or just simply forgot to add the needed lines to "category_game.xml"?

edit:

Hmmm both files in /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb have the
Code:
			<Query
				class="type:x-xmb/folder-pixmap"
				key="game_xmbm_hdd0"
				src="xmb://localhost/dev_hdd0/game/XMBMANPLS/USRDIR/game_main.xml#seg_xmb_hdd0_app"
				/>

line.

Yes to your first question.
I haven't had time yet to go through the new Rebug XML & there have been changes.
It would have been surprising that Joonie forgot about it though.
I will look into it. By then, no doubt someone else will have given you an explanation.

The more I think about all this the more I agree with [MENTION=872]sandungas[/MENTION], a tool that parses & modify the current XML would be better. Too many possible XML files to deal with if you want to cover all existing CFW and avoid having to update with every release..

Hey,

thank you for your answer. It doesn't bother me much, if i understood this right the debug XMB option is just for thoses debug settings and i don't use them. Just was something i wondered about.
The debug setting is the default, so i had too fiddle around a bit to get it working I'm pretty new to this stuff and the PS3 also.

Yeah, i toltally agree with that. Would be so much easier for the users and the maintainers also. One time effort vs. constant maintenance of all the xmls for different cfws.

I intentionally disabled xmbm query on "root_dex" as it's causing issue while in-game.. (DEBUG VSH)

I'm calling all the xmbm members to come up with the solution please :)
What kind of in-game issue are we talking about [MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION]?
