XMB Manager Plus mod 0.23.000-mod by aldostools for COBRA!

This is a fork of the official XMBM+ that I originally developed for personal use on 3.55 Kmeaw.
Now I adapted the category_games.xml to work with webMAN + XMB Manager Plus on COBRA 7.0

Easy install on Cobra 7: (may not contain latest version of XMBM+)

or

Manual installation
1. Install a Cobra CFW. - (XMBM+ can be used also on non-Cobra CFW.)
2. Install multiMAN 04.66.08 (or later if available) - http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24
3. Launch multiMAN, go to Settings column and enable the option "Write access to dev_flash" (it's the 2nd option from bottom)
4. Go to multiMAN's mmOS (File Manager) pressing [Select] + [Start] buttons
5. Copy webftp_server.sprx (version 1.41.x) to the root of /dev_hdd0/

Official version of webMAN-MOD by M@tsumoto and aldostools:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD

Use PRX Loader by u$er to launch webMAN manually on non-Cobra CFW:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=243
(use new_core from Estwald to auto-start PRX Loader on system boot)

Latest webMAN MOD versions are available here:
http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=257

Latest official versions are always here:

6. Copy the included boot_plugins.txt to the root of /dev_hdd0/
7. Copy the included category_game.xml to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ (do not edit this file unless you know what you're doing)
8. Reboot.
9. Install the included xmbmanplus_hdd.pkg
10. Enjoy XMBM+ on COBRA 7.0!
NOTE: For support of /PS3ISO, /PSXISO, /DVDISO and /BDISO content on external drives with NTFS file system, install and execute prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs.
Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN's data.

How to update XMB Manager Plus (mod)
1. Click the About option in XMB Manager Plus mod for the update option
2. If there is an update, you will be prompted to download the file (Save in the downloaded pkg in the root of the USB drive)
3. Install the downloaded pkg from Install Package Files
4. Refresh XMB launching any application (eg. BD Reset) and returning to XMB.

Thanks to:
  • DeanK for the awesome webftp_server.sprx
  • COBRA's lead developer for the release of the unofficial Cobra 7.0
  • user for PRX LOADER
  • Team XMBM+: andreus(coding), bitsbubba(coding, themes), DeViL303(coding, POC/WIP) ps3Hen (coding, 4.00 port), aldostools(coding), CloneD(themes), Berion(logos)
  • dreamcat4 for the suggested .xml method and exofreak for his POC release of launch games through XMB using webMAN.

What kind of in-game issue are we talking about [MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION]?

It looks ugly when you use XMBM with debug VSH, (spinning icons and duplicated queries) You will see when you try even with [MENTION=6]bitsbubba[/MENTION]'s xml.

No C coding, we tried the xml modding route. Unfortunately it seems that another system file needs patched to allow all mime types to be written on internal hdd. As is, it's likely that only audio/video/picture files are ok to download with this method, nothing else...

Otherwise by using your snippet, we could temporarily redirect using something in memory like wMM for example (a combo or even better, enabling/disabling the redirection automatically when the browser starts/closes)?

You can test with build:
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server.sprx

use:
Code:
http://ip-of-your-ps3/remap.ps3[B]/dev_usb000[/B]&to=[B]/dev_hdd0/packages[/B]

or

http://ip-of-your-ps3/remap.ps3?src=[B]/dev_usb000[/B]&to=[B]/dev_hdd0/packages[/B]

to redirect /dev_usb000 -> /dev_hdd0/packages

open the browser and download some pkg (e.g. from Brewology) to the device connected as USB000 (select the drive and press Start to start the download)
A pendrive or USB hdd must be connected to USB000 to allow the browser recognize it.

For some reason I'm getting an error 80023320 at the end of the download, but the file is actually stored to /dev_hdd0/packages
(maybe the error is because the files are downloaded to a temporary folder in hdd, then moved to the destination)

Use Package Manager to install the package from hdd0.

To restore the access to /dev_usb000 use:
Code:
http://ip-of-your-ps3/unmap.ps3[B]/dev_usb000[/B]

If the test goes ok, I could add the links to webMAN.xml, VSH Menu and to the portal.

NOTE: The http commands /remap.ps3 and /unmap.ps3 are new and only available in this test build 1.43.26.

I intentionally disabled xmbm query on "root_dex" as it's causing issue while in-game.. (DEBUG VSH)

I'm calling all the xmbm members to come up with the solution please :)

This was the problem then, as soon as I activated rebug mode and selected retail xmb it started working with no problems

Just a question, would it be possible to implement a functional full fledged file manager? I mean copy, cut commands and such

Read post #55.
Many things are already working but not everything can be implemented with xmbm+ although vsh_menu could be the answer imo for fully featured...

So far 3 games tested no glitches at all.
Only thing is warning about fake save dara owner on coming up every time it tries to save info..... Is that normal?
No icon... corruption so far...

It seems to work fine apart from the error 80023320 that comes up 50% of the time. Basically it looks like the same error we had with the xml modded attempt so I believe it could be related.
However this way, error or not, the file is copied & not corrupted.
If only we could correct the error throwing despite its irrelevant consequence.

Very promising [MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION]. A step in the right direction. To be perfectly honest, this way crossed my mind but writing for wMM means asking you to integrate the code & I was not sure you would be ok with that.

Definitely a feature I would love to see in next wMM 1.43.26....
.
Maybe solving the error 80023320 might help solving the XML modding way I mentioned earlier too.

Press PS button and check the game category while in-game
I got you.
It's only an issue when you press [] to sort games in different way after using the PS button in game....

Personally I don't give a crap as I never use that sorting feature at all, I don't like it because there is no option to sort xmb the way I want to anyway.

However I can see how it's a problem for a release. I have a feeling that it might be fixable though, by tweaking the category_game_tool2.xml .... Fingers crossed.

Also have now tested 7 games, the in-game issue is always the same but I found a game that won't start at all, black screen, MGS Ground Zeroes (both JB & ISO, on both internal & external)
[MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION]
Getting Trophy related messages once or twice on some games after start which is cool but that Fake Save Data owner is definitely a pain in the bxxxt. It comes up dozens of times in 10mn with some games.......

Even though it's not very important to me, this situation is not good. It's been working fine with every DEX release before, why not now ?
[MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION] is it possible that the issue could come from debug vsh? Or do you believe it's due to xml mods?
[MENTION=3657]pinky[/MENTION] [MENTION=6]bitsbubba[/MENTION]
we need to find the reason for this guys if the issue comes from xml.....
[MENTION=872]sandungas[/MENTION]
Any idea why this problem might be? Can it be category_game_tool2.xml related in your opinion?
Also, if you could please have a look at aldo's test webftp_server.sprx posted above in order to redirect usb to internal to achieve browser Downloads redirection that we discussed ages ago. What about the occasional error message which can be safely ignored but still annoying....

category_game_tool2

This one seems working fine, I took this one from XMBMODMAN pkg that was used for 4.70 CFW.

It'd be the best if the XMB+ pkg installer includes its own modded XML :)

that's quite odd I would like to get it working with the current FW file though since the hash of the two file are different

I just noticed that this one doesn't have REBUG's pkg manager as XMB+ has its own PKG manager so I think that was the initial issue of duplicated items on XMB

have you checked the one in Cobra CFW Tools, or maybe the one that was posted recently for 4.75 REBUG

Are the added lines identical to the ones we are using now?
If not, maybe we could replace the new xmbm+ lines to make them exactly like 4.70 & leave the rest alone..?

1. About the game issue with MGS5,

You can't use System software mode on certain games, you need to use release mode in Boot Mode.

2. about that fake save data owner message

Private Paste - Pastie credit goes to @haxxxen

Of course you also need to recompile cobra source with updated hash in modulespatch unless you want to add the patches on modulespatch
