Recently an update was made to XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) by developer Aldo Vargas ( of ps3tools.aldostools.com), This modified Package Manager comes with plenty of features for the XMB. Such as a File Manager, Game Manager, Package Manager, Homebrew Manager, Download Manager and lots of other features. New in this update the developer has updated and/or added new Web Links, Package Manager, Game Manager & webMAN.xml . Checkout some of the details of this highly recommended XMB Modification.

What is XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) Mod?
This is my (aldostools) modified version of the XMB Manager+ originally released by Team XMBM+. This version of XMBM+ (mod) includes various related files. category_game.xml is not installed automatically. XMBM+ (mod) can be updated directly from XMB if you have an earlier version already installed.

This is a fork of the official XMBM+ that I originally developed for personal use on 3.55 Kmeaw.
Now I adapted the category_games.xml to work with webMAN + XMB Manager Plus on COBRA 7.0

Easy install on Cobra 7: (may not contain latest version of XMBM+)

Manual installation

1. Install a Cobra CFW. - (XMBM+ can be used also on non-Cobra CFW.)
2. Install multiMAN 04.66.08 (or later if available) - http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24
3. Launch multiMAN, go to Settings column and enable the option "Write access to dev_flash" (it's the 2nd option from bottom)
4. Go to multiMAN's mmOS (File Manager) pressing [Select] + [Start] buttons
5. Copy webftp_server.sprx (version 1.41.x) to the root of /dev_hdd0/

6. Copy the included boot_plugins.txt to the root of /dev_hdd0/
7. Copy the included category_game.xml to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ (do not edit this file unless you know what you're doing)
8. Reboot.
9. Install the included xmbmanplus_hdd.pkg
10. Enjoy XMBM+ on COBRA 7.0!

NOTE: For support of /PS3ISO, /PSXISO, /DVDISO and /BDISO content on external drives with NTFS file system, install and execute prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs.
Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN's data.


How to update XMB Manager Plus (mod)

1. Click the About option in XMB Manager Plus mod for the update option
2. If there is an update, you will be prompted to download the file (Save in the downloaded pkg in the root of the USB drive)
3. Install the downloaded pkg from Install Package Files
4. Refresh XMB launching any application (eg. BD Reset) and returning to XMB.

[MENTION=10028]all[/MENTION]: Ive made a "Lite" edition of the xmbextras_0.23.03.pkg by aldostools, this is only 776KB. The ONLY 1 thing I removed is the PSN download section, and I compressed some of the web link icons to 8bit so they look a little rough around the edges but nobody would really notice. It has 100% the same functions as version 0.23.03 mod by aldostools apart from the changes I just mentioned.

The package is so small now it could be easily included on flash.

and [MENTION=22544]DeViL303[/MENTION] if you do manage to get XMBM+ working upon install of a PUP let me know. I would be curious as to how you did this as I haven't had much luck doing such. Finally have Rebug PKG manager and XMBM+ co-existing in Game & Video categories as well as perfect CEX and & DEX functions

You have a flasher built in don't you? Are you still interested in this, I have a Rebug 4.78.2 PUP here with XMBM+Mod (inc PSN download section and original icons) and XMBPD and Rebug Package Manager all built in and enabled on install, with zero issues that I can find so far after playing with it for hours. I can switch CFW Settings on and off in the toolbox when ever I want, I can use debug XMB without icon issues etc. If you would like to test it or just examine it let me know.

EDIT: There are actually 2 very tiny issues due to XMBPD that I should mention. Multiman singstar isn't compatible with this FW, and if you use Spotify it must be installed to either PSN or Game category.

go to GameData there should be a listing there just delete it. If your webMAN MOD setting directory changes then you'll want install from webMAN MOD Updater (I highly suggest the latest)

Cheers. Deleting gamedata got me back to normal. Don't like the extended menu in webman personally.

Was hoping this might just give the extended menu in xmbm without changing the normal webman menu / icons.

Yeah my internet is crap. I figured that might of been the case due to them looking a lot cleaner even on my 24" screen. Probably timed out on me. They started slowly appearing, but after 5 minutes I'd had enough and gave up.

Yeah personally I think all icons should be included for when peoples internet is slow or down. Would not be too hard to change.

No sorry, I just mentioned it to try get discussion going about building this mod into a pup someday. if you want I will share the xmbm+ xmls needed to run it from flash and you can install it your self, but I cant share this pup publically. anyway cobra is broken in my pup as it is now due to other mods so you wouldn't want it anyway.

Yeah test it out if you want.

Just so you know: those xmls are not the normal version that people use. Its a modified version I made that runs from flash.

If you just want the normal pkg thats runs from HDD then here is the most up to date XMBM+ mod version 0.23.003

That pkg version can just be installed on rebug 4.78 it will work fine on install. If you are on lower FW you will need to modify your game xmls too.
