Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with my PlayStation 3 (Fat model) where the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) appears, but only during certain games. For instance, I was able to play FIFA 16 for around 40 minutes without any problems, and I exited the game normally. Similarly, E.X. Troopers runs smoothly — I completed several missions and was able to quit the game without the console shutting down.
However, when I try to play Metal Gear Solid 4, the system shuts off during the opening credits. A similar issue occurs with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, where the game works fine until the part where Raiden loses his arm. Call of Duty: Ghosts also functions properly until the third tremor in the first mission, after which the system powers off.
I noticed that the issue with MGS4 became worse after I installed a custom firmware (CFW). Now the console shuts down during the television channel cutscenes at the start of a new game.
Any insight or suggestions on what might be causing this selective YLOD behavior would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
