PS3 4.82 Overflow cfw collection

ofw mode removes install packages and app_home. both are in category_game.xml. app_game is known as debug in that file. as long as you don't alter the file, it's fine. I'm not sure what issues you had, but db won't have install packages. there are I believe two patches to create db in the core os, so everything else is unchanged. install packages uses the category_game.xml and the nas_plugin.xprx.

So how do I switch to db mode?
 
you need to use one listed. afaik, db mode uses a patch in the applor (in level 0) and spu_pkg_revoker. you may be able to make one with mfw, but I'm not sure. I don't think there's a rebug version since rebug is heavy on patches, db is basically installing a new fw. it's k9inda pita, so I suggest using sen enabler or psn patch.
 
The guide I followed said to just installed DB first then install any CFW you want on top of it. I did DB -> Ferrox Standard 4.82 -> Rebug 4.81.2

So how do I activate the DB that is supposedly lying underneath all this? I just want to be able to switch to it to play my legit games online safely. Are you saying I shouldn't bother with DB at all and just get a sen enabler for my rebug?
 
well, db is as close to cfw as you can get, but you have to install that cfw. it's installed like any other firmware. you can't turn it on/off. it's good though. with the 360, a fully hacked one, you can't sign in at all or be banned instantly. you might say they had their shit together far more than sony did. use senabler/prn patch to play online, but it's no guarantee you won't be banned. mount the game, then initiate either app. you should be able to play online with no worries.

Not sure what you consider fully hacked but I was able to multiplayer dozens of games for free all you needed was a cfw flashed optical drive and a dual layer burner.

I believe that your copy of the game is not good or you have incorrect options selected in multiman or a bad eboot.

There is no need to get your panties in a twist, just ask for help nicely if you have made a mistake which you clearly have.


@Alexander , no bro it does not have package manager only normal install packages with modification.

The only reason I was upset is because it is not "dual boot" in any way shape or form despite its name.

If I understood pinky correctly there is no way to switch between it and other cfw. You just install every time you want to use it apparently? Lol. I can use OFW for that, but obviously I'm going to go with his suggestion to ignore "db" and use another stealth method to save time.

Maybe you should have done some research first,
this cfw lets you install it over cfw and install cfw again,
you cannot install cfw over ofw,
so if you are only legitimately playing games on your jailbreak and do not want to mod games you can install this cfw play legitimately and then install a full cfw again in the future,

I understand it's just that it needs to be called "minimal" or "stock-like" imo. Nothing is dual booting there.

really not a name he in particular came up with as dual boot CFW has been around the scene for quite some time. If you look at it from a different perspective it is dual booting in the only way we have possible
 
You guys should make a new chart like the cobra/rebug/mamba sticky! I am torn between 4.82 overflow or 4.81 rebug. I was impressed with rebug but the fact its not on 4.82 officially yet just bugs me. :S
 
use overflow if you can live without ps2 iso support.did you test 4.82 ferrox cobra or standard and if it was cobra,did you test latest webman?

Yea I had webman working fine then suddenly ftp stopped working. I tried everything I could think of for a couple hours then decided to just start all over because I was having space issues anyways, this time I'm not going to put anything on the internal hdd except dlc/saves.

I had ferrox cobra and ftp wasn't working so I switched to rebug and it worked great for about a day.

The ps2.iso issue only appears on nand model ps3s, is ok on no bc models like nor, I will look into that issue and get back to you, thanks again for the heads up about the issue
 
not a problem,glad that i could help.i really really liked it,and i myself would use it but currently i'm heavy into survival horror games so ps2 support is a must for me.

Yeah it's surely some networking issue, have Ethernet running straight between them no switch using ICS have Wifi on pc.

it stopped working after I played a few games streamed with that ps3net app for the first time so it might have changed something or I did.
 
I install overflow its work fine but when i run a game (gta v and pes18) i have a black screen any idea please?
