PS3 Fault finding YLOD with the SYSCON - First steps and Error reporting

HI, new to this syscon testing, but have a lots of PS3 boards home that I would like to bring back to life ...

The first test was on SEM-001 (first soldered the diag, and didn't get nothing) ...

So after removing DIAG pin got this result :

As I read this is somthing with clock failture ... As a solve read here on pages to chech F6001, which is ok with multimeter ...

Can someone point me further wheare to check ...

Did you check the wiki?

Did you check the wiki?
OK, In wiki, after rereading, this should be nec tokin error the A0801001 ....

Now the question, I'm I only looking for the last error, or should I also take in question the errors before the last ???

Sorry new to this, but as I said have a lot boards left here by me that would be nice to fix and spend to some kids here in Croatia that they can play ... (for no cost, and have the time to fix) ....

error 00 is the latest. So the last error was 02 2110.
This error can be caused by a 5V_MISC short to ground. One user had an A0022110 after replacing IC6105 (Buck Converter) and accidentally bridging the 5V voltage input. So check the 5V line for shorts.
This error has been resolved by a number of users who had a short on F6001. It is important to note that something usually causes that fuse to blow, like a short. So it's important to troubleshoot the board to find and repair the shorting component before replacing the fuse. Otherwise the new one will blow too.

One user, who resolved this error on his C model PS3, noted "very short YLOD. Error code shows 2110[...]Some earlier code shows 1001 and 1002." The 1001 & 1002 errors he noted in the log before the 2110 appeared may have been a clue that C6019 or C6020 (as they are in parallel) was deteriorating. Further investigation is needed to confirm this hypothesis, however. In his case, C6019 was shorting and caused F6001 to blow. This short overloaded F6001 and cut power to many Subsystems, such as the HDD, USB ports, South bridge, CPU, GPU, etc. Another user confirmed this. The error log was showing code 2110 and one entry earlier was showing code 1001. Checking both capacitors after removing them from the board, confirmed that one capacitor was reading 140 ohms and not reading as a capacitor, so it was working as a resistor causing extra load in the fuse.

F6302 and C6320 are normal and all other fuses are also alive, but I noticed that the measurements do not match this photo MC2_VDDIO-0,3 ohm,VDDA-0,3 ohm

Hi to all, i am new to this community so sorry if that has been answered allready. I have 3 ps3s with YLOD issue that i got as a repair project, and without really knowing what i am doing i followed the tutorial to get the Errlog-bringup and becount results for all three. Can anyone enlighten me with any suggestions? How should i upload the syscon findings?

error 00 is the latest. So the last error was 02 2110.
Downloaded all the shematics from your sig ...

SEM-001 board

The wiki says for this error : C6019 was shorting and caused F6001 to blow, where both are OK on my board, even the 6002,6301 and 6302 fuses are OK ...

Found 6019 which has 1.284 mF (like other on the board same dimensions) (measured onboard) ...

But can't find 6020 and the IC5001 ...

Could you detail me further ...

The console arrived to me allready dellided (without any obvious visible harm) and with rather fresh paste applied. I did another repaste and tried it without any change. I wasn't so thorough, meaning didn't replace the thermal pads but that was before i dived in the syscon method. Should i try again, should i go straight to reflowing? I don't really care about the outcome since it's more of a hobby than business, but i am not comfortable yet with trying a full RSX reballing (nor do i have the equipment other than a cheap-chinese rework station). Should i just declare it dead and move on? From what i have been reading, 3034 errors is associated with GPU/CPU contact faults. Has anyone succeeded with less complicated methods?

Sorry for not reading the tut to the end, tought that the error log is enugh ....

Now after the becount I think this console is worth saving with only 60 days on ???

Well, if you read the link, it says 3001 is related to 12v, I guess you already checked the power supply and 12v resistance on board?

Causes for 2110 are also described in the same page. As you can see it can be triggered by many different faults. I have never repaired that board though, I'm not sure what to suggest. You can download the manual and check if 5V_MISC isn't short to ground at least. Inspect the board for damaged/missing components. It's all a shot in the dark at this point. What is the history of the system ?

I bought the PS3 with RLOD, now have seen the repair guide, and would try to repair it ...

Have more of those board, this board was popular here in Croatia, and many of them have the same issue ...

I'm a hobist elektronic, and would like to repair them to donate to kids in my neiborhood to play which don't have a financial status to buy some of this.

Thx for guiding, will try to download the shematics and to search at it ...

This has to be one of the more interesting brigups I've seen yet.

Hard to know what to make of it. I have been wondering for a while now if the inpeedance of failing BGA or Bumps could cause 1001 errors, or PLL unlocks. The 3034 seems to confirm this.

OTOH, perhaps the 1001/1301 are related to the tokins and the GPU soldering is failing simultaneously (3034/4402). Don't think I've seen a 1001 occur at step# 40 before. Can't remember off the top of my head anyway.
