PS3 Fault finding YLOD with the SYSCON - First steps and Error reporting

Hello everyone. I post a new report for a PS3 CECHA00 Backward Compatible.
All the things I know about this PS3 is that I've got It from a bundle of console for parts.
I don't have the history of this console, but I guess this console was working fine, until the last owner tried to delid the CPU and GPU, and... it went wrong.
The RSX looks ok, but the CPU is completely scratched, and corners of the DIE seems to be damaged.
Both IHS were glued back, but there was only thermal paste on each DIE, no paste on VRAM chips for the RSX.

Some screenshots for the CPU :

A while ago, I did a errlog get, to see each errors, and I've got 2 errors : (A0323033 and A0233020).
But I did a new errlog check recently, just in case, but only the A0323033 appears (Maybe I cleared all errors before, I can't remember). And when I bringup the PS3, it displays a 1 Second YLOD.

So, here's the Syscon logs :

I guess the reason for this YLOD is cause by this broken CPU.
I don't think i'm going to try to replace the CPU, i'm not enough skilled.
Hope this report can help the community, and sorry for my English.

Is that hot glue? lol

That CPU is dead. Corners are gamaged and it lokos like the die is cracked, plus the gouges on top of the ship. Youll need a CELL swap

Hello everyone. PS3 slim, shutting down after 3-4 seconds. It appears to me as a short somewhere outside rsx or cell. Would appreciate any help.

I would replace the RSX

Hello, I have a PS3 slim, model CECH2500A, turns on then off after 1-2 seconds. Looking at the error log and searching online, my guess is that it needs a reball on the RSX. Can anyone help?
Before this issue, this console had never been opened or dropped, and there is no damage on the MB.

I would replace the RSX
It seems that way. According to my research all standby voltages are present and all resistances are ok. When i try to start it in thermal cam it is clearly that there is no thermal signature on RSX. Cell lights up, power lines, but RSX seems completely dead.

That's an unreported error. Clearly a sherwood code, which is why. We don't get as many reports from slims.

Can you please provide details about the console history, behavior, and condition of the motherboard?

Was it sealed? Did the motherboard have any repairs done? Flux on the board? Shell damage indicating it may have fell or been abused in shipping. What have you tried? Checked fuses, voltages, etc.

These may help in the future figure out what that code means when someone else comse across it.

EDIT:
  1. Likely the 1200 was from testing without the HS attached. Please confirm.
  2. 1004 and 3001s were likely from testing without the 12v connected and forcing improper shutdowns. Please confirm.
  3. Judging from the timestamps you or someone then removed the clock batt and reflowed "soemthing" (please confirm what you reflowed) on the board resulting in the thermal monitor errors 2130/2131.
  4. Judging by the timestamp and order of the error codes I would guess the A0012310 occurred at the same time as the A0801200 or on the next boot attempt. It may not prevent a boot, but I have no idea, since I've never seen it before. The 2310 is interesting and never reported before.
  5. A GLOD that pairs, sounds like a GPU issue. Like when VRAM dies.
Good evening, apparently it was a gpu defect, I took it out to try reballing, but before reballing, I did some tests, and it was shorted, in the measurements before taking it out I didn't find any short, apparently everything was normal, so I didn't proceed with it. the reball. The only thing that had been done to the device was a reflux in the HDMI ci.
That ps3 cechc from a few months ago, which I replaced the rsx with but was getting errors 2120 x10 followed by 3013, I replaced it again with an rsx, this time 100%. But now I'm getting this sequence of errors, what do you think I can analyze?

Anyone know what all causes 801701?
I have a sealed A01 with only 403034 errors. After installing a 40nm it now drops 801701. Ive put 2 different RSX chips on it and reballed the CELL but still 801701 after about 10 seconds

EDIT: 2nd console in a row with this issue. both sealed a01s with 403034 errors. Tried to check SB logs and as soon as O open putty the windows starts spewing gibberish The second output is after I push the power button. It does look like its on too low of a firmware

EDIT: Turns out im just super lucky and they both have 3.0 FW. Fme

Hello friends.
Someone can maybe point me in the right direction?

I have this CECHL04 VER001 with error codes 2024 and 2124. No display on HDMI or AV. The console powers on and stays on. The gamepad connects with USB cable. No hard drive in the console when I got it.

I replaced the HDMI chip but I'm still getting the same errors. I read the syscon errors again but this time checked power state and noticed that PCI and PCIX is off. Does that confirm it's still a HDMI or AV chip issue or does it point to something else?

Edit: I removed the AV chip today to check if there is a change. No difference besides error 2022 also now appearing in ERRLOG.

2nd Edit: Initialy I thought the gamepad doesn't connect but that turned out to be a faulty USB cable.

Recently picked up a second-hand PS3, will not boot at all, and checking the syscon was of little help. Any clue, or should I just admit defeat.

If it boots even for 5 seconds then check SB uart.

Esse é um erro não relatado. Claramente um código sherwood, e é por isso. Não recebemos tantos relatórios de slims.

Você pode fornecer detalhes sobre o histórico do console, comportamento e condição da placa-mãe?

Estava lacrado? A placa-mãe teve algum reparo feito?

[/CITAR]
Bom dia Felix, se puder me ajudar eu ficaria grato...

hey fat dia 002 went from ylod to no light had nec errors 3001 and 3002 and 1001 and 1002 power ones adding 1 tantulum 470uf to each cap both sides that i took from a superslim now console has no light psu has 5v and 12v too i think what should i check and i broke off a filter cap from syscon too its right in front of crystal

First time posting and thank you for your effort and perseverance in investigating the issues of the beloved PlayStation 3.

I have two 60GB launch consoles, PAL CECHC04, both death for YLOD.
For now I opened one and extracted the logs from the SYSCON.
They are as follows:

Those 3034 errors are clearly pointing in the faulty RSX way, don't you think?
That's why, yesterday I purchased a slim CECH-3004A, in order to get a 40 NM SRX.
I don't have the skills or tools for the frankenstein mod, though, but luckily I have found a local technician that is specialized in reballing that offers that service at a reasonable price.

So, my question is: should I ask him to also change the NEC Tokins as well?
I'd prefer to do every step that would fix the console and hopefully guarantee a long life in a single operation. I'm not sure about the Tokins and you have way more experience than me so I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks again.
Fixed swapping the faulty RSX with a 40 NM one, changing also the Tokins.
