you need to flash for cfw. hen works on all models, but it was made for non-cfw models.

you can try https://ps3addict.github.io/writer/ also. however, bgtoolset is best. if you can not get any pages to load at all, you may have some incorrect router settings or NAT is causing problems.

it is the same for ofw/cfw pups. although i think it might only be required if you are already on that version firmware.

What i mean is that sometimes i get the " No applicable data is found " when the console is already on OFW 4.90, and it's a NOR ! Only NAND should get this message .

Also, can we change some Network Settings so the HFW is installed directly via online update ?

HFW 4.90.1 -alone- does not jailbreak the PS3. It actually is the same as OFW 4.90 with some files from OFW 4.82 to let install PS3HEN and other ps3xploit tools.

To jailbreak your console you first need to install this HFW 4.90.1, then install PS3HEN from http://ps3xploit.me from PS3 Internet browser.

PS3HEN works on all PS3 models including all phats, slims and super slims.

I have no idea what would cause that, for me any NOR models I have had never had any issue with detecting the same version of Firmware on XMB... Unless I was on some CFW with broken patches/mods but never on OFW.
 
Hi there i been out for a long time havent follow ps3 cfw, i turn my ps3 on and it is 4,81 rebug can i have some help to update to the latest cfw? much appreciated
 
I was trying to update the PS3 firmware to 4.90.1. Everything was going smoothly until the screen went black. Restarted PS3 in recovery mode, and again went black. Now it is stuck to this. Anyone know the solution please let me know. Thanks

Try using AV cables. It might be the HDMI encoder.

I have the following device and need advice on installing a stable jailbreak. So what I mean is should I install 4.90.1 or something else?

Well the one thing you should note is that consoles that don't support CFW cannot be downgraded so updating to 4.90 would be a one way process.
That being said, HEN is fully supported on 4.90 and there haven't really been any undesired changes since 4.84. The only thing of note is that 4.89 disabled the ability to create new PSN accounts on the PS3 itself and the ability to buy with credit cards directly on the PS3 store - but since it's also been disabled on PSN's servers staying on lower firmware will not help you. Other than that afaik all the changes between 4.84 and 4.90 are just Blu-Ray key updates.

Probably updating to 4.90 would be the better option because it would allow you to install the newest version of HEN, which afaik was not backported over to 4.84.

latest HEN (3.2.2) is available for OFW 4.80 to 4.82 and HFW 4.83 to 4.90.

It's basically a Docker Image containing Apache Web Server (HTTPD) with AutoHEN 3.1.1 for HFW 4.89 and the FlashWriter for HFW 4.90 inside.

Simple navigation using the "Index of" Apache Pages.

My idea is avoid the user worries about little details of Apache or other Web Servers configuration.

I built in Linux, so I created 2 files "build_and_run.sh" and "down.sh" to make it easier to use.
But I believe is possible to port these scripts to Microsoft Windows OS.

I put by default the HTTPD port to 8888 to avoid collision with other web services.

If you believe its a good idea, I send to you maintainers the ZIP containaining the Dockerfile, script and other files. The size is about 30 or 40mb, but I make it smaller by deleting the P3T files.
