4.90.1 HFW (Hybrid FirmWare)

PS3 HFW 4.90.1 (Hybrid Firmware) -

That's still under development, but bgtoolset for 4.91 is already available so there's no need to wait, until you really can't connect your PS3 to the Internet for some reason.
I use the flash writer all time because it's offline...

Well, at this point the community treats Flash Writer mainly as a backup tool in case something happens to bgtoolset, which is considered vastly superior except for not being available offline. It will be ported eventually but devs are not in a rush.
Also note that you only need an updated version if you have a console already on 4.91, otherwise you can just install HFW 4.90, use the current tool and then flash Evilnat 4.91 without having to go through 4.90 CFW. Also if your console is already on CFW you can just update without hacking again.

Yes thanks but need it for new console...

Well then, unfortunately you'll have to either use bgtoolset or wait until an updated Flash Writer is released. Either way you end up with the same result.
P.S.
Avoid using Flash Writer and always opt for bgtoolset if you have a NAND console (CECHA through CECHG). Flash Writer is unable to backup the entire NAND and therefore a botched flash might turn your console into a paperweight.

The most probable is that you have reason, but i will never trust on any online tool. Not with this kind of operations. So let's see if we finally get ported the flashwriter for the 4.91...

Could be. But, why doubt when the developer is here on the forums, and is a trustworthy member of the scene?.

But to each their own. If people want to use the more dangerous FlashWriter, please let them have it.
I used the wrong account on my mobile device LOL I'll swap back to my main, but ye
Bguerville has made amazing contributions that took alot of attempts to build really thankful he provides the ps3toolset online
He's focused on the privacy of your console when you use his flash tool, and not to mention he's planning a big upgrade to it for the superslim and late gen models like Joonie said right? That is if lucky enough lol not trying to rush things.

Eh I wish I could be of use with my hardware flasher but I need a certain screwdriver first to remove the specific screws from my console that I can't remove without it

I understand the fundamentals behind that reasoning about closed source etc.. and it's not entirely wrong in theory, yet I can't help but laugh.
In practice, who among all users is even able to fully analyse a payload released with old offline tools (that I wrote also btw) and even among those few individuals who are able, who actually does it????
I wonder how many people have actually reviewed the entire official HEN build code available on GitHub to ensure it was 'safe'?
What about CFW patches? Has anyone ever checked that Nat's or Rebug CFWs for instance are 'safe'?

Stricto sensu the fact that a tool is offline is not a definitive guarantee that it is "safe" and vice versa online.. And the same thing could be argued about open source really..

Agreeable, If I had the required tools to remove my superslim motherboard I'd be able to revert back to 4.89 from my old dumps of it. Figured I mention but being able to participate in the testing phase for a 4.60 minver superslim.

But everyone knows you're a secret agent working for the NSA and your closed source tool has backdoors that convert people's PS3s into drones in a huge botnet that hacks into the air force PS3 supercluster that is secretly still running in area 51.

I installed hen by hen manual installer , auto didn't work for me. When I copy game through MultiMan or webman I only get black screen and the game does not load . Any fixes for that issue . I tried many solutions but nothing worked

is there any way to install HFW without updating through storage media because when i do i get stuck into update loop with error 8002F1F9 somehow
