If you came here, it may be likely for you to see my previous post about installing HEN. But this time, I will be telling you how to install PKGs/packages!
The only things you will need are:
  • A USB HDD with at least 16GB of space
  • A PC with an OS that supports USB
  • A PS3HEN console
=============================
Downloading Packages (Part 1)

[1] First, download your packages from this site:
https://ps3.brewology.com/
[2] Then, plug in your USB.
[3] Right click your drive you just plugged in (likely D: or E:).
[4] Click Format and then click Start.
[5] Wait for it to be done, then click on your USB.
[6] Right click on the blank directory and click New → Folder.
[7] Rename the folder to packages (all lowercase).
[8] Move your packages that you want to install into the packages folder.
[9] Click Eject (the little arrow icon next to the drive letter) and unplug your USB.
=============================
Installing Packages (Part 2)

[10] Plug your USB into the port closest to the disc drive, and turn on your PS3.
[11] Click on Enable HEN.
[12] Go to Package Manager.
[13] Click on Install Packages → Install packages from "packages" directory on Storage Device.
[14] Click on your package, and it should be installed.

Tips & Warnings

[1] Make sure the folder is named packages in all lowercase — otherwise your PS3 won't detect it.
[2] Don't unplug your USB while the package is installing.
[3] Some larger PKGs may take a while to install, so don't turn off your PS3 until it's done.
Farewell for now, once again :)

There's no need to use a USB HDD — any USB device up to 2TB (1.5TB recommended for better compatibility) will work. The key requirement is that it must be formatted as FAT32 with MBR. PKG files can be installed the same way on both CFW and HEN systems.

FTP/Net Server can be used to install pkgs without a PC and USB drive. Also you can download pkgs via PS3's web browser.

PS: NTFS/EXFAT drives can be used to install packages too, but it's another story.

If your flash drive is already formatted as FAT32 with MBR, there's no need to format it again. You can place PKG files either in a folder named packages or directly in the root directory — both methods work.

You don't need to use the USB port closest to the disc drive (dev_usb000), as the Package Manager scans all ports up to dev_usb007. Any available USB port should work just fine.

And creme de la creme: It is less time wasting when user just unpack *.pkg on PC and transfer stuff to proper place(s) via FTP. ;}

I'm sorry that this thread written by OP is felt like written in ChatGPT. There's a ton of guides that are readily available yet you want to create another guide that seems redundant.
