PS3 HAN [OBSOLETE] [Tutorial] The Great PS3Xploit 3.0 HAN All In One Guide

Very quick responses thanks everyone since is 11:00 pm I have to sleep but tomorrow I will
1. Get a backup (no idea where to get this specific game with all that virus spam)
2.Get the ps3 linker app working (no ethernet cable but know there is an alternative)
3. See if my slow laptops both home and school don't die from this process (forced to depend on my laptop at home. The slowest at almost minimum windows 10 expects)
4. Practice Spanish writing (maybe to translate this tutorial or others if allowed of course)
5. See if I can finish 25% of this list with all the bad sides before the weekend (I am literally still on middle school).
Edit: Thanks for this forum you are helping lots of people by giving away what you've learned. See you tomorrow.

Bad.... I installed official GTA 3 (from PSN not a PS2 Classics conversion) and the screen did go to black, the ps3 disconnected from the TV and the control doesn't sync

FYI @Fin9ersMcGee

These steps in your tut are not exactly the recommended steps:

22. Boot console
23. Open Browser
24. Navigate to www.**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)
25. Navigate menu at top of webpage and select "HAN Installer"
26. Once webpage has loaded, scroll down and select "Initialise HAN Installer"
27. Wait for "HAN Installer initialised successfully" in green letters. If it fails to initialise then clear all history, cache etc, reboot PS3 and restart Section D.

You should change them into
22. Boot console
23. Open Browser
24. Navigate to www.**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)
25. Navigate menu at top of webpage and select "HAN Installer"
26. Create a favourite or set the page as homepage.
27. Restart the browser
28. If you created a favourite, load it. If you set homepage, the page will be loaded automatically.
29. Once webpage has loaded, scroll down and select "Initialise HAN Installer"
30. Wait for "HAN Installer initialised successfully" in green letters. If it fails to initialise then proceed to step 27 again.

You should use the same steps for loading all exploit pages.

Note that restarting the browser is sufficient for all intent & purposes. No need to reboot the console or even clear cookies/history/authentication data & cache. All those things make no difference at all to the initialization success rate when you restart the browser.

I hope it helps.
Btw you did an excellent job collating all this information, very useful for a lot of people, well done. ;)

I do explain that once HAN is installed and if you installed HAN Toolbox, that the the rest of the guide HAN is enabled using HAN Toolbox.

My guide isn't super clear on this, but I will work it into the guide so it's easier and clearer to follow.

Clearing cache, cookies etc and rebooting ps3 was just how it "seemed" to work when I was testing and I thought I was getting better results than just closing the browsers. Didn't know it was all in vain lol.

Updates, updates, updates.
Lots changes to make and new subjects to write about today.

When the screen goes black, is it the normal ps3 booting screen? As in, when you push X to start your game, you get that split second "flash" animation where its booting up?

If this is happening the way I described, it sounds like you did everything right and the game is booting OK....

Do a quick test for me.
Boot your game and give it 2 mins to make sure it's 100% booted. Don't turn off your console.
At this point your TV says "Disconnected" or similar, your ps3 is still ON and your controller is OFF.
Hold the PS button on your controller to turn the controller on.

Does your controller connect to your PS3 and show the Player 1 LED as if it is connected??

Sorry, ignore my last post...
You did say your controller wasn't syncing.

I have only one more suggestion.
If your from the UK and your TV is old and only supports 480i resolution.
And your trying to play a US region game (576i resolution) then the game won't boot because your TV doesn't support it....
That's literally the last thing it could be...

To test this theory, acquire a UK PAL version of the game.

The ps3 is Region free so can play any content from any region. But if your TV doesn't support the resolution (PAL 480i, NTSC 576i) then your TV cannot display the game. Nothing to to do with ps3 or HAN or backups.

This also applies to anyone in US (NTSC 576i) trying to play a UK (PAL 480i) game on an incompatible TV.

I totally understand because I made that mistake too months ago.
It turns out it's impossible to assess initialization rates without proper stats. You need to collect results for at least a few dozens of tests, even better hundreds of them.
You can easily get the impression that after making a change, success rates are improved because it appears to work better, sometimes a few times in a row, even after several reboots but ultimately it turns out that overall it is not the case at all.

I made these instructions after literally making several hundreds of manual tests in all sorts of conditions. Many many hours of testing as you can imagine... Lol

Also there is something else you should amend in the tut.
6. FROM NOW ON, ANY HAN ACTIVITY MUST BE EXECUTED FROM YOUR SECONDARY USER ACCOUNT.

7. You can still use your main user account to do anything non HAN related. But you must switch back to your HAN user account if you want to play backups.
Well basically you should do the HAN related installations in the secondary account yes but all the gaming should take place in the primary account. No need to stick to the secondary account to play your HAN backups, it's not as if the resigned backups were tied to that account if u know what I mean..
The only thing to remember is once you enabled HAN you can only play HAN resigned backups. If you want to play a non resigned game (official or non resigned CFW2OFW compatible) you need to reboot. That's all.

Hope it helps.. ;)

That's in my notes. I've been talking to Habib on this subject of secondary accounts and I originally misunderstood, thinking that all exploit stuff and backup stuff was to be executed on secondary account only. But I understand now.

It probably didn't help that I don't care for my PSN account as I only purchased a single PS1 game. And I don't really do online multiplayer or trophies.
So I don't actually have a secondary account....
Not a problem for myself as I won't use PSN very much anyway.

Because of this, the way I started with ps3xploit was different to Part 1 of my guide and I edited it in later on. I still don't have a secondary account, so writing from a first person point is a little screwed

No problem. Take your time anyway. Your tut only needs a tiny bit of polishing but that's definitely to be expected given its nature. Like I said you did a great & useful job overall already. ;)
If ever we come across other little things like this, one of us will let u know.

I start Monday, wooooo woooooo!.

I will try and get as much of this guide completed by then, or I will kill myself! LOL! JK! Mostly.

Thats awesome, man!

What job is that ?

Believe me, it's nothing special... But what with robots replacing us in the workplace, vacant jobs numbers are always shrinking. So I'm happy to be back in work again and not worrying about dem bills

If you are 1/4th the hard working dude that you seem to be, from all these meticulously written tutorials, then you deserve a great job mate. Hard working people are so difficult to come by these days!

So, congratulations! You deserve it!
