PS3 HAN [OBSOLETE] [Tutorial] The Great PS3Xploit 3.0 HAN All In One Guide

Interesting little tid-bit.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is one of my all time favourite games. So, when I first set out to run HAN, this game was my starting goal.
I made a psx classic pkg with the backup I had on hand and installed. It fired up great, until it reached the "Gore Warning" screen. There it sat at that screen forever.

Strangely enough.... About 8 years ago, this happened to me in exactly the same way on my PSP with HEN exploit... Same freeze at "Gore Warning" screen. I fixed this on the PSP when I downloaded a random copy from a forgotten source on the internet. And it just worked perfectly.

So, fast forward to 3 days ago, I dig out my now broken PSP and pull out the 4gb Memory Stick Pro Duo card and found the psp pops version I made all those years ago, a quick bit of copying and ripping and conversions, I now had an ISO to convert into a PKG...

The GameID, TitleID and even the games name was all a mess of characters, but it worked. Kinda.... Gameplay and sound is full speed.... But the sound has a really low pitch...
Jill Valentine literally sounded like the devil on sulphar hexafluride :/

Sounds to me that this game has LibCrypt protection. BTW, there is a PSN version of it.

Ehhh no it doesn't
For a psn game, not demo, you need rap file and resign the pkg

1.obtain rap and game pkg
2.resign pkg with my tool
3.get rif pkg from rifgen-master/
4:enable han
5:install rif pkg on secondary user, install game pkg on whatever user
6:play content

This is the tut for the psn pkgs

what about a demo psn game that dont have rap? just resign the pkg and the game will unlock from demo mode like unlocking it from reactpsn? speaking of reactpsn, do we have that kind of tools for pc since we dont have homebrew yet for han?

Stuck on "running make_npdata" .

What should i do?View attachment 11204

This looks like everything is working.
Just leave it, take a nap, make a cuppa, have a sandwich.
Depending on your game size, conversion may take some time.
Remember there are huge 20gb ps3 games out there. It has to take all those files and repack them and 20gb b can take a long time to convert

Updates:

Ps3 Secondary User Account re-written
Warnings added before steps that require use of HAN secondary user account.
Introduction for Homebrew added
Prep Ps3 Browser REMOVED - Deleting cookies, history, cache and authentication is NOT required

Hi to everyone,i'm new to the forum.
I have a problem when I try to install a PS1 game to ps3. The game is Final Fantasy VIII
I followed the tutorial for ps1 games in the main page, and everything works great until I launch the game...it goes into black screen the return to XMB saying "error 80028F17"
I enable HAN and dumped act.dat and idps.hex from my secondary account.
Also after I enable HAN my other games downloaded from psn can't be played(demos work)
Any idea? Thanks in advance

Use HAN for backups and not for your legit titles on your main account.
If you want to play your legit PSN Store games and you already enable HAN, then just reboot your Ps3 and your good to play those games.

Did you copy your act.dat and psid.hex inot the rifgen folder and did you sign your PKG?

Yes copied them and signed the .pkg
At the end i had 2 .pkg one with "signed" at the end of the name...I copied it into USB

Yes, this is the correct PKG.
Ok, to test if its a corrupt ISO image, try another game ISO.

And make sure you have everything you need for Part 3.A and follow every step. Missing a step can mess things up.

I tried another game and it works without a problem!
I decided to make some test: Final Fantasy VIII is multidisc (4 discs) so in PSX2PSP i created an EBOOT.PBP with only disc 1.
I didn't add images(PIC0,PIC1...),the i created the pkg a signed it.
The result is that the game now starts but after the PS1 logo it remain in black screen.
I think you were right and the image file is corrupted.
Thanks for the help and for creating (and updating) this amazing guide!
I have another question if you can help: in my modded PSP i have a PS1 game downloaded from internet times ago(It should be PSN version,so not created with any program). Do you think I can use this EBOOT.PBP and continue from 3.A step 14?
I tried using PSP2PS3 like you suggest in 3.C but i got an error at the beginning of the conversation process
PS: Sorry if i wrote something wrong but english is not my main language

There may be a way to extract the data from the EBOOT.BIN and then rebuild your game into a UMD style ISO. Then you can follow Part 3.C to create a PSP Remaster backup.

I've run some small tests rebuilding UMD ISOs but It wasnt with a retail game... It was to add PSP Homebrew for testing.
My tests failed, but that may be because of the homebrew not being compatible.

I will test some more and get back to you as soon as I can. But I am really busy right now I'm afraid.

If your game is a PSN Store Game, you may have some luck with Part 4.B if your title is available (which it probably is)

Hey I installed the HEN stuff but after doing HEN enable, I installed one package and can't install any others, the last option is an infinitely spinning loop (install from root of USB) and the other option (install from packages directory) when selected lags the PS3 for a second, then never loads, no options show up despite me having a PKG there. Any solution?
