Hello, first time posting on psx-place.
Ps: sorry in advance about any mistakes over my english writing skills, english is not my native language, and i'm trying not to use translator anymore.
The thread:
I've seen alot of posts and videos over this comunity before i bought a PS3 myself. The time has come. I bought 2x PHAT (FAT) units, one CECHG01 (read about it being awful) and a CECHP01 (better than CECHG over temps, 65nm RSX/65nm CELL). Both units bought on FEV-MAR 2024.
About CECHG01:
Got this unit as "original and working perfectly", i was waiting for its problems since i had some reading about PS3 PHAT models and this one had some issues.
At first yes, it does bootup and keep on at XMB without any problem, temps keep steady on XMB. I installed HEN+WEBMAN to take a look into its temps, sometimes it got 70ºC++ on XMB, so i decided to repaste. I did, temps keep high and it turns off when playing some games (aka TLOU and Infamous 2, very demanding games). Then, i decide to DELID it and, it worked. I used some techniques that i saw, over spattulas and others.
For RSX i used a simple spattula and push it over, without heating, it was pretty easy. RSX done.
For CELL, i heat it up with a Vonder STV150 for about 40 secs - 1minute on 300ºC, cut off its silicone with OLFA+Razor blade (as Wielki Elektronik). Cell done.
Repaste all of it, turned on, boom, it works. Temps got better, but still had YLOD at some point playing games.
I used NOCTUA NT-H1-10 as thermal paste, since i had a spare one.
So i had to get SYSCON (as i read over this forum and many videos over YT as rip-felix and others, greets to you all). This is CECHG SYSCON ERRORS that i got using "PS3 ADVANCED TOOLS" at first:
About CECHP01:
Got this unit as "original and with issues playing some games", i doubt at first, tought that a simple repaste would work, since CECHP is a better and last revision of PS3 PHAT (CECHP and CECHQ), with 65nm/65nm.

So i'm wondering if i need to change their NECTOKINS with TANTULUM or their problems are deeper than i tought. I took some time to read and compare their SYSCON with "PS3 DEV WIKI - SYSCON ERRORS" and some of then are related to NECTOKINS failing.
I never had solder anything, but at same time i think that i'll be able to do if have to do so. I have some "experience" over PC builds, so i took care over disassembly/assembly both PS3.
I can't "reball" them if needed.
What is your opinion over this?
Thanks.

About CECHP01:
Got this unit as "original and with issues playing some games", i doubt at first, tought that a simple repaste would work, since CECHP is a better and last revision of PS3 PHAT (CECHP and CECHQ), with 65nm/65nm.
At first yes, it does bootup and keep on at XMB without any problem, temps keep steady on XMB. I installed HEN+WEBMAN to take a look into its temps, it has better temps than CECHG but still not good. I decided to repaste it
For RSX i used my Vonder STV150 and a spattula, easier than first try at CECHG (since this time i got the Vonder).
For CELL, i heat it up with a Vonder STV150 for about 40 secs - 1minute on 300ºC, cut off its silicone with OLFA+Razor blade (as Wielki Elektronik). Cell done.
Repaste all of it, turned on, boom, it works. Temps got better, but still had YLOD at some point. playing games, at XMB it keeps steady.
I used NOCTUA NT-H1-10 as thermal paste, since i had a spare one.
So i had to get SYSCON (as i read over this forum and many videos over YT as rip-felix and others, greets to you all). This is CECHP SYSCON that i got using "PS3 ADVANCED TOOLS" at first:
