So I got a PS3 CECHE01 Phat version, it was used in a lab a very long time ago. It's very clean and I believe its had very little usage. Its just been sitting in a box for a long ass time. So the other day I wanted to see about soft modding this thing. I turned it on, and I could have sworn my monitor detected a signal for a second, but since then nothing. I have done the reset to reset video, tried both HDMI and the RGB. Just hard to believe this thing would have the dreaded RSX GPU issue, since the thing was barley used. I'm wondering if someone in the lab possibly tried modding it and jacked something up. All it does is turns ON, and I get the green light, but that's it. No display. I'm able to turn it off by holding the power button down fro some time. I removed the HD to see if it would boot with no drive, but same symptom.
So any ideas what I can do to find out the issue with this thing? If someone corrupted the flash, I heard there is some E3 Flasher device, maybe I could use that to possibly fix this thing.... Just not sure if in the current state if that device would work.
